Leeds Castle, gelegen op het idyllische platteland van Kent, vierde in 2019 zijn 900e verjaardag. De lange tijdlijn van het kasteel is gevuld met koningen en koninginnen, Britse aristocratie en vele sleutelmomenten in de geschiedenis van Groot-Brittannië, waaronder de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Het is toevallig ook een spectaculair gebouw dat midden in een meer ligt! Je krijgt zowel het weelderige interieur als het pittoreske terrein te zien.
De kathedraalstad Canterbury wordt al sinds de prehistorie bewoond en staat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO. Wat ooit een bedevaartsoord was, is nu een populaire toeristenbestemming die deels bekend staat om zijn prachtige kathedraal, die dateert uit het jaar 597! Ontdek de fascinerende geschiedenis van de kathedraal van Canterbury en bewonder de indrukwekkende gotische architectuur.
Deze regio aan de Engelse kust maakt deel uit van de door Kent Downs aangewezen Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, en het is niet moeilijk te begrijpen waarom! Je hebt een prachtig uitzicht op de indrukwekkende kliffen en kustlijn.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience on our tour yesterday (10 May 2025) through Golden Tours to Leeds Castle, Dover & Canterbury Cathedral. Our guide, Stefan was very knowledgeable and humorous and provided fascinating insights into the history of the places we visited. The tour was well paced and the time allowed to soak in each location. Our tour driver, Mario too was very kind and friendly and certainly made our long drive very relaxing & comfortable. We truly appreciated Stefan & Mario's friendly & professional demeanor.
The tour was very interesting. It allowed us to get to know some attractions in a practical way that would certainly be more complicated to do independently. Our guide Stefan was very friendly and helpful, always attentive to our questions.
The trip was wonderful and covered the leeds castle, war memorial and Canterbury church. The guide was avery helpful. Highly Recommended tour !
They were horrible. We got lost and nearly mugged and they had no sympathy. They said we had to pay 50% to rebook the tickets.

We went with Guide Ana, and we can only say of her that she did her job of 10 in every way so that we could enjoy the tour to the fullest.
We had a wonderful trip. Our tour guide Dan was absolutely perfect, the best tour guide we’ve ever had! The driver did a great job too.
Disappointed in this tour , it was not worth the cost as very little time in the historical places and very little explanation by the Guide ... the guide Paul spent stressing how little time we had, without need, because it was a very punctual group we were in ... that time would have been great to take advantage of in a better introduction of the places, Castle Leeds had too much history with the 7 queens who lived there, and he did not talk to us about any ... the same with the castle gardens and with the Canterbury area, because they did not explain the general history there (such as the way of life of the inhabitants, trade, food, etc , etc ) pity the places we visited !
Interesting ride, guide (Danxia) very good at explaining places. Very nice places, excluding Dover. Leeds Castle is very beautiful
