De tour begint in Windermere en gaat richting de Langdale Valley, die gevuld is met erfgoed en landbouwgrond. Op weg naar de Langdale-vallei rijd je langs het beroemde Lake Windermere en onze chauffeur / gids vertelt je veel verhalen over ons prachtige National Park.
Hawkshead is een charmant middeleeuws dorp vol smalle steegjes en karakteristieke pleinen. Het is de thuisbasis van een middelbare school die werd opgericht in 1585 en waar de beroemde Engelse dichter William Wordsworth naar school ging. Met uitzicht op het dorp op een heuvel, vindt u ook de Sint-Michielskerk en de All Angels-kerk, die er al sinds de 16e eeuw is. Terwijl we het over Hawkshead hebben, moeten we ook de heerlijke Hawkshead Relish Company noemen, die zeker een bezoek waard is! Hawkshead is een dorp waar je een echt gevoel voor geschiedenis krijgt en het is een geweldige plek om te verkennen, daarom nemen we het op in zo veel van onze tours.
Je hebt tijd om het adembenemende landschap van Coniston in je op te nemen voordat je naar Tarn How's gaat. Tarn Hows is nog een van de verborgen juweeltjes van het Lake District. Het is de inspiratie geweest voor veel kunstenaars en schrijvers en als je er eenmaal bent, zul je begrijpen waarom. Nadat je het uitzicht hebt bewonderd, brengt de tour je naar de laatste stop, een reis naar Hawkshead.
Coniston is een mooi dorp dat bekend staat om Coniston Water en Donald Campbell CBE, die het wereldsnelheidsrecord op het water van 276 mph brak. Je kunt ook een glimp opvangen van een Steam Yacht Gondala, een herbouwd Victoriaans stoomjacht dat cruises aanbiedt op Coniston Water.

Beroemd merenlandhuis van Beatrix Potter. (De accommodatie is niet op vrijdag geopend buiten de Britse schoolvakanties of tussen november en februari). Als Hill Top gesloten is, bezoeken we de World Of Beatrix Potter in Bowness om meer te leren over de auteur en de personages die ze heeft gemaakt.

This was a terrible tour. I booked 5 tours this trip via Viator and this was by far the worst. All other tours that I booked were 5 stars and this was sub-par. Why? 1. Mike, our guide did not have a sign when met in the train station. We had to search for him in the parking lot. His excuse was that he would know how to find us. 2. He spoke as if he had marbles in his mouth. We had no issues with any other tour guide. 3. His history of the area was all over the place and not well organized. 4. Some stops didn't allow for much time, one stop was 5 minutes 5. We arrived in the lake district for lunch at 2:50 and all the cafes closed at 3:00. Needless to say, we didn't have lunch. 6. The cream tea was 1 1/2 hours which should have been 1/2 hour and the extra hour could have been used for exploring and shopping. Most of the trip seemed very rushed other than the Beatrix Potter tour which was very pleasant and time well spent.

Peter was excellent. He has amazing knowledge and is really good at story telling! He made good conversation, was clear with instructions, and has amazing driving skills haha! Loved every bit of it! After not being able to the find the tickets in time ; I missed my train and missed the entire tour. I reached out to the company for a refund to my disgust they just took my $600aud and laughed all the way to the bank. Despicable

The Tour Guide was great. The tour company sent me 2 copies of the same ticket instead of the 4 tickets I needed. When I asked about this they sent the proper tickets, but then called me again and seemed very confused. They didn't tell the guide about our reservation for Cream Tea, so I had to follow up again on that. The hotel with the tea room was very uninterested in our group. They mostly ignored us, and grudgingly served us. They could not even bother to be polite. I give 5 stars to the tour guide and 2 to Evan Evans tours. The tour guide did not work for them, he was an outside contractor.

Due to the disruptions and cancellations of the train, we got off it at the Preston station unexpectedly. I was confused at first because I'm a foreign tourist, but the tour agent(Evan Evans Tours) got in touch with me immediately and the local tour guide, Tim picked me up in front of the station. He was very friendly and his explanation was easy to understand for foreigner. In addition, he helped me to take pictures at a great photo spot. There are a lot of beautiful nature, so I could forget daily life and enjoy this tour. Thank you for your kind support, Tim!

Mark, the guide, knows the area very well and has great information about many details. I'd suggest leaving the Beatrix Potter's World off the tour, unless there are young children signed up.

We got picked up 2 hours late from the station. No apologies from the local guide. Not worth of money at all!
