Onze chauffeur haalt je op bij je hotel in Antigua en neemt je mee in een half uurtje rijden naar de prachtige hooglanden van Guatemala. Deze overdracht is privé en exclusief voor u en uw familie of vrienden. Deze transportmodus biedt de mogelijkheid om langs de weg te stoppen op een paar plaatsen die het bezoeken waard zijn, zoals het uitzichtspunt van het meer. Onze gids is een lokale Maya-inwoner die zijn kennis als een gecertificeerde gids met u zal delen, maar ook zijn ervaring in het leven als een Maya-afstammeling.

Vertrektijd vanaf Antigua is om 6 uur. Langs de weg zijn er verschillende goede restaurants met kleine handwerkexposities, ideaal om enkele minuten te stoppen, benen uit te rekken, goede koffie te drinken, een snel ontbijt te nemen, faciliteiten te gebruiken of een beetje te winkelen als u geïnteresseerd bent in lokale producten. Voordat we onze bestemming bereiken, is het aan te raden om een laatste stop te maken bij het mooie uitkijkpunt van het meer om wat foto's te maken. Het programma voor de dag is het volgende: • 06:00 uur - Hotel Afhalen in Antigua Guatemala • 07:15 uur - Snelle stop naar Chichoy Restaurant om faciliteiten te gebruiken, koffie te krijgen of te ontbijten • 08:45 uur - Snelle stop bij het uitzichtspunt van het meer • 9.00 uur - Aankomst in Panajachel en vrije tijd • 09:15 uur - Groepsbootrondvaart naar de volgende Maya-dorpen: San Juan, San Pedro en Santiago • 16.00 uur - Terug naar Antigua • 19:00 uur - Aankomst in Antigua Guatemala

Our driver Mario was kind courteous and safe driver. Made the ride super easy. Joel our Mayan tour guide loves his job and it shows. Speaks three languages English Spanish and Mayan. Great young man. The towns were authentic and something you don’t see very often. Tuk Tuks everywhere and Mayan people all over. We had a great time!

A perfect day trip! We started off with a comfortable (but long!) car ride to Lake Atitlan. Upon arrival, we met our guide, David, and had breakfast with a view. He was a wonderful guide who made sure we experienced all we wanted to see. We loved San Juan and Santiago. We opted to skip San Pedro so our kids could have time swimming in the lake. Would highly recommend this excursion. And if you go, hope you are lucky to have David as well!

A must do experience. Yes, it's a long day and a fair amount of travel but it's worth it. The lake is beautiful, and the trips to the islands situated within it, getting a sense of how people live and work, and the history of both Guatemala and its people made this a great day. Rene, our driver and Joel , our guide , were fantastic.
The Lake Atitlan tour made for a long but interesting day. The three villages we visited on the trip were diverse and worth visiting. Our guide did a good job of explaining the history of the area and the people who live there now. The slight reduction in our rating of this tour is due to the traffic that we encountered on the drive from Antigua to the lake. It's not a reflection on the driver or the guide, but the travel time to and from the lake can be tedious.
