Ophaallocaties en -tijden
De ophaalplek is de taxistandplaats van Taino Bay of de cruisehaven van Amber Cove. Na het uitstappen begeef je je naar de officiële taxistandplaats, waar de chauffeur op je wacht met een bordje met je naam erop. Zorg dat u 30 minuten voor vertrek klaarstaat. Great experience for families with kids or just with adults. We loved the monkeys and the other animals as well. The guides were great very informative. We would definitely go back on this excursion.
The description of this excursion is misleading. It says 2 hours but it took closer to 4. We booked this tour over others specifically for the duration so that we would have time to explore the port after the excursion, so this was quite frustrating. We expected a half hour trip to and from the monkeys and then some time with the monkeys. However, you don’t just go to the Monkey place; they made an hour-long stop at a store, which was frustrating and deceptive since this was not in the description. The visit with the monkeys was great, but the rest was not. Our tickets said someone would be waiting at the taxi area with a name sign for us, but they weren’t and it was had to find them and we just happened to get lucky. I would recommend booking the monkey excursion through a different group, as the monkey part was awesome.

We had an incredible experience with our tour guide, Gelsy! He was so knowledgeable and took the time to explain every plant and detail around the grounds in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does. He was also amazing with the monkeys and made the entire experience feel fun, interactive, and memorable. His energy, patience, and passion truly made our tour special. If you have the chance to tour with Gelsy, do it — he was absolutely incredible!

Our driver Carlos picked us up and showed us the local spots. Like the school he went to, his parents house, and the butterfly garden. He took us to a place in the community that had hand rolled cigars, jewelry, and mama juan. Then he took us to the monkey reserve. All the little squirrel monkeys came up and perched on our heads and shoulders. They took family pictures and individual pictures. For a nominal fee they send the pictures to your email. Had a great time 10/10.

Our tour guide, Ronald Hurtado provided great communication prior to arriving in the port. He was waiting for us and was genuinely friendly and courteous. He provided a colorful background on the city, sites and local culture as we drove in a large passenger van to see the monkeys. Having squirrel monkeys sitting on you and looking in your pockets was an awesome experience that we will never forget! We also held parrots, goats and other animals. Ronald waited for us and then drove us back to the ship. I highly recommend this tour!
What a wonderful experience! The monkeys are incredibly friendly and the staff was super fun and knowledgeable! Shout out to Gelsy and Alex! Such a cool time to spend doing something unique. Can't wait to show everyone back home what I did today!
