Na veel reizigers in Kyoto te hebben begeleid, hoor ik vaak hetzelfde: “Beroemde plekken voelen te toeristisch.” Als u akkoord gaat, is deze 3,5 uur durende nachtelijke food tour iets voor u. Saiin ligt op slechts vijf minuten van het stadscentrum en is waar het authentieke nachtleven begint. We bezoeken drie lokale favorieten : een nostalgische gyozawinkel verscholen in een traditioneel houten gebouw, een verfijnde bar voor lokale sake en seizoensgebonden gerechten, en een levendige plek met een breed scala aan Japanse sterke dranken, waaronder ambachtelijk bier en whisky uit het hele land. Zonder flitsende borden of toeristenvallen kunt u gewoon genieten van heerlijk eten en echte gesprekken. Uw Gids regelt alle bestellingen en vertalingen, zodat u kunt ontspannen en opgaan in de lokale bevolking. Stap buiten de gebaande paden en zie waar de inwoners van Kyoto daadwerkelijk hun nachten doorbrengen. Ga met ons mee voor een avond vol verborgen pareltjes en oprechte gastvrijheid.

Saiin is een lokale wijk in Kyoto waar het dagelijks leven de eetcultuur van het gebied vormt. Met zeer weinig toeristen in de buurt, biedt het een zeldzame kans om de stad te ervaren vanuit een lokaal perspectief en verbinding te maken met de gemeenschap. De tour begint bij een traditioneel machiya restaurant, waar je geniet van vers gemaakte gyoza in een warme, nostalgische omgeving die de nuchtere kant van Kyoto weerspiegelt. Bij de tweede stop verken je een selectie ambachtelijke bieren, sake en whisky uit heel Japan, gecombineerd met gerechten die zijn gemaakt met regionale ingrediënten van het seizoen. De avond wordt afgesloten in een kleine, geliefde buurtbar die bekend staat om zijn vriendelijke Eigenaar en ontspannen sfeer. Er zijn zitplaatsen gereserveerd voor de tour, zodat u kunt ontspannen met vakkundig vervaardigde cocktails en kunt genieten van een gezellig stukje nachtleven van Kyoto dat de meeste bezoekers nooit ervaren. Tijdens de tour ligt de focus op authentieke lokale ervaringen - dagelijks eten, buurtcultuur en verborgen plekken buiten het typische sightseeingpad.

My wife and I had the pleasure of being guided by Sota Ito on a visit to local eateries in Kyoto. We visited three sites over a leisurely three hours enjoying authentic local cuisine and drink, and conversation with our guide. There were locals at each destination, and no destination was crowded or overly noisy. We appreciated the thought that went into destination selection. Kudos to Sota for a professionally conducted tour.
This was the best tours I have done. Ken (Kantaro) was knowledgeable and very engaging. We had a great time learning and trying new things. The conversation flowed, a bit like the sake. It was like going out to dinner and bars with a good mate…but better. I look forward to next time. Thank you!

I came to Kyoto hoping to visit a calm place with few tourists, and I joined this tour. In this tour, the guide took us to several shops that local Kyoto residents actually frequent. It was a highly valuable experience. We were taken to shops we would never have found on our own, and we even got to talk with local people, which created a wonderful memory.
This was a delightful tour and a chance to try the local Izakaya cuisine. Our guide Masa led us through the alleys of Kyoto to Little hidden gems we would never have found on our own. The food was excellent and included drinks such as local beer and sake as well as soft drinks all included. Highly recommend!

I booked this tour last minute and was grateful to be accommodated. It was just myself, and Amy, the guide on the tour and I had an a fantastic time. Amy was an amazing host and also gave me lots of tips about Japan. We went to three different bars and restaurants where we tried a variety of dishes and drinks. The tour was fairly casual in that we ordered what we felt like eating and drinking and paid for it as we went. We went to places i never would have found myself, let alone been able to order at as the menus were in Japanese. It was SO refreshing to be taken off the too-well-beaten tourist trail and visit some authentic local places with local prices in Kyoto. This tour was incredibly good value. I recommend it to anyone looking to get away from Kyoto crowds and tourist area
