Nara Park is een van de must-see gebieden in Nara City en is een van de oudste parken in Japan. Todaiji is een van de beroemdste en historisch belangrijkste tempels van Japan en een bezienswaardigheid van Nara. De tempel staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO als een van de "Historische Monumenten van het Oude Nara", samen met zeven andere sites, waaronder tempels, heiligdommen en plaatsen in de stad Nara. De hoofdhal van de tempel, de Daibutsuden (Grote Boeddhahal), werd erkend als 's werelds grootste houten gebouw. Het massieve gebouw herbergt een van Japans grootste bronzen Boeddhabeelden (Daibutsu). De 15 meter hoge, zittende Boeddha stelt Vairocana voor en wordt geflankeerd door twee Bodhisattva's.
Het Kyoto Prefectural Uji Park is een eilandpark omringd door de Uji rivier, die de waterstroom stroomafwaarts verdeelt. Het park is verbonden met de oevers door drie bruggen. Er zijn vele schilderachtige kenmerken, waaronder een 13e-eeuwse stenen pagode die 15 m hoog is. In het voorjaar biedt het park een prachtig uitzicht op de kersenbloesembossen, en vogels zijn te zien vliegen in de lucht. Roodgekleurde bruggen verbinden de paden aan beide kanten van de rivier, en het is interessant om eenden in de snelstromende rivier te zien duiken om vis te vangen.
Byodo-in Tempel is een van de best bewaarde nationale schatten van Japan en een UNESCO World Heritage Site. De meest iconische structuur binnen de tempel is de Phoenix Hall, die aan weerszijden van de centrale hal vleugelachtige gangen heeft, die lijken op een feniks die zijn vleugels uitspreidt, geselecteerd voor het ontwerp als de voorkant van de 10 yen munt.
Uji staat bekend om de productie van groene thee, en deze charmante straat is bekleed met winkels die een verscheidenheid aan thee en thee-gerelateerde producten verkopen. Het is een must-visit bestemming voor iedereen die naar Uji reist, omdat het Japans rijke thee-erfgoed laat zien en een kijkje biedt in de fascinerende geschiedenis. Terwijl u over het kasseipad wandelt, wordt de lucht gevuld met het verleidelijke aroma van vers gebrande theebladeren. Hier kunt u “dango”-knoedels, noedels, ijsjes en donuts met theesmaak proberen. De rivier stroomt door Uji en verdeelt de stad in twee delen. De meeste winkels en restaurants liggen langs de oevers. De Uji-brug, de belangrijkste passage over de rivier, wordt beschouwd als een van de drie oudste bruggen van het land.
Er zijn ongeveer 30.000 Inari-heiligdommen in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is het hoofdheiligdom, om de Shinto-god van rijst, Inari, te aanbidden. Het heiligdom staat bekend om Senbon Torii, duizenden vermiljoen rode toriipoorten, die een verbluffend en meeslepend tunnelachtig pad creëren naar de heilige berg Inari. In de 1300 jaar sinds de oprichting in 711 AD zijn mensen hier bijeengekomen om te bidden voor overvloedige oogsten, zakelijke welvaart, de veiligheid van hun huis en gezin en de vervulling van alle andere wensen.

My experience was well. The guide was very enthusiastic and friendly. We were given sufficient time to explore the numerous attractions in Kyoto and Nara. Watch out however, the deer are very aggressive, much more than they are depicted online.

Fantastic trip to Nara and Uji. I highly recommend using this type of tours as you travel comfortably in the scorching summer in Japan. The activities are well organized.
