Communication was brilliant from the moment we booked some months before. We did the two day trip - one day trek to Sun gate and stay in Aguas Calientes. The next day we went back to Macchu Picchu for a tour. We were picked up from Cuzco and taken to the train before starting the uphill hike. Our guide, Yu Ben was super friendly and knowledgeable. Arriving at Sun gate to see the views of Macchu Picchu from above was breathtaking. I really recommend it. Enjoyed every minutes - thank you to Yu Ben for superb organisation and to Llama Path. Great guide and company.
We had a great experience doing the short 2 - day Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Lucio. He was phenomenal - very patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history of the Incas and Machu Picchu. He shared a lot of interesting information throughout the hike, which made the experience even more meaningful. He was very kind and thoughtful, regularly checking in to make sure everyone was doing well and things were organized. A big thank you as well to the entire support team. Juan and the porters worked so hard behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly, and Soledad prepared delicious, warm meals that we looked forward to every day. We really appreciated all the effort that went into making the hike so comfortable! The tents were comfortable, and the team always made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone was friendly, organized, and attentive throughout the hike. We really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this team to anyone planning the Inca Trail.
Nilton was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and experienced. He along with Ingrid made the experience amazing. The food we had at lunch was better than the food we had in restaurants, and the porters that carried all the equipment up made it very special. I would recommend if you want to do a bit of the hike but not the full 4 days. It was tough going up but manageable and Nilton was very supportive to the group. Everything was very well organised and we were looked over from start to finish.
The two day tour of was a mind blowing experience and a once in a lifetime memory. Reynaldo, our guide, was magnificent. When I was struggling a bit on the climb, he stayed with me the entire time to insure I got through it. I did! The meals were five star, the experience was five star, Reynaldo was five star. When he played the pan flute as we crossed over the Sun Gate at our first glimpse of Machu Picchu, we were in awe I will remember this trip forever..
Nilton is very knowledgeable and experienced. He is fun and responsible. We are very satisfied with his guided tour in Machu Picchu regarding the history of the Inca empire and Spanish colonization. However, we feel that if the train back to Cusco is earlier (skipping the lunch and market trip and substituting with a light lunch on the train) would make it even better so we have a earlier dinner in Cusco.
The trekking to Machu Pichu was one of the most exciting moments of my life. A teenage dream that came true! This experience was magnified thanks to our guides, Nilton and Jeff. The support, the structure, including a wonderful lunch at the top of the mountain, and the knowledge of Inca history, above expectations, were amazing! I highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions Guides!
The trek was well organized with the guide - Herlin was always in constant communication. I never faced any issues, and learnt so much about the Incas through the guide. Highly recommend Herlin!
Had a great experience with the Alpaca team! The guides were awesome, knowledgeable and kind. The hike was hard but worth it and day 2 was nice! Would recommend but be prepared for a trek!
Nilton and his team thought about everything and attended to individual needs. They insured every one of us were successful, from the first to the last. They also shared the traditions, cultures, and history of the Inca people. They allowed time for questions and gave deep responses. If you want a complete experience, turn to Alpaca Expeditions. Ask for Nilton and his team.
My husband and I booked a 2 day / 1 night Inca trail trek with Alpaca Expeditions and had an absolute blast. The best part of the trip was definitely the guides: Nilton, Benjamin Raul, and Marcos. Nilton as our lead guide was amazing. He was encouraging, gave clear instructions, and gave an extremely informative tour of Machu Picchu. Benjamin Raul and Marcos were also wonderful and made sure to take a number of pics of each person in our group, ensuring we had mementoes from our experience. There were 16 people in our group, yet the guides provided such great individual attention to us that the group felt small. Another great perk was the food. We had lunch on the trail prepared by Alpaca’s chef and it was restaurant quality, which is unheard of on a trail in the middle of the Andes. We had so much fun on the hike and tour and will be encouraging all of our friends and family to book with Alpaca Expeditions.
