Ivuka Arts Center is een kunstcentrum en kunstgalerie in Kigali, de hoofdstad van Rwanda.
De plek in de Rwandese hoofdstad Kigali waar tien Belgische VN-vredeshandhavers werden vermoord door de Hutu-extremisten om een terugtrekking van de VN-troepen uit te lokken, wat vervolgens de weg vrijmaakte voor de volledige omvang van de Rwandese genocide.
Nyamirambo Women's Centre (NWC), een Rwandese ngo, werd eind 2007 opgericht door 18 Rwandese vrouwen die in Nyamirambo, Kigali, wonen. Samen creëerden ze een project dat tot doel had gendergerelateerd geweld, genderongelijkheid en discriminatie aan te pakken. Tegenwoordig is het de missie van NWC om onderwijs en beroepsopleiding te bieden aan vrouwen die niet over de middelen beschikken om een dergelijke opleiding zelf te betalen, zodat zij betere kansen op werk kunnen krijgen.
Kleurrijke autovrije zonestraat, Kigali! Biryogo staat algemeen bekend als de hoofdstad van de stad en staat bekend om de verscheidenheid aan culturen en gerechten.
De Kigali City Market is een geweldige plek om doorheen te dwalen. Hé, tot op zekere hoogte lijken de bovenste verdiepingen veel op een winkelcentrum met op de begane grond verkopers van verschillende soorten, waaronder eten en huishoudelijke artikelen. Handelaren zijn boeiend en vallen bezoekers niet al te lastig, het maken van foto's is eenvoudig en hier is een breed aanbod te zien. Ook een paar eet- en drinkgelegenheden. Dit is geen toeristische plek dus geen echte curiosa enzovoort, maar fruit, thee, koffie, honing enzovoort te koop als je daar naar op zoek bent. Prijzen waren zeer redelijk en niet veel onderhandelingsruimte, maar ook minder druk om te kopen. Een geweldige plek om te verkennen - geen echte behoefte aan een gids of een 'local' om je te vergezellen, want het is veilig, goed licht en heeft een geweldige beveiliging.
