Deze tour gaat buiten de gebaande paden en laat het trottoir en de toeristen achter zich voor de meer ruige onverharde bergwegen in het achterland van het Tongass National Forest, een lokale favoriete rit. De tour is zeer landelijk en biedt, afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden, een aantal mooie, verhoogde uitzichten. We rijden door enkele voormalige houtkaplocaties terwijl we de noodzaak onderzoeken van verder behoud van onze oerbossen als we schone lucht willen blijven inademen en als we de klimaatverandering willen bestrijden en een van de grootste koolstofputten van de Verenigde Staten willen beschermen - de Tongas.

Ga met ons mee op een prachtige 2 uur durende rondrit in een 4x4 SUV met een kleine groep van maximaal 7 gasten! Ervaar de schoonheid van het Tongass National Forest terwijl je met chauffeur over een onverharde bergweg door backcountry-vergezichten wordt gereden. Deze tour wordt geleid door eigenaar en exploitant, Tongass Teague. Geniet van het contact met hem, elkaar en de wildernis van Zuidoost-Alaska. Vraag hoe we onze oerbossen kunnen beschermen.

RECHTS NAAST SOCKEYE SAM'S @ 425 Water St, Ketchikan, AK 99901. WARD COVE GASTEN: Klanten die hier aangemeerd liggen, moeten een shuttle naar het centrum nemen om elkaar te ontmoeten bij de Berth 3 shelter. Ophalen kan worden aangevraagd, afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid. Neem contact op met Teague om te zien wat de mogelijkheid is om een ophaal- en/of terugbrengservice te regelen. Niet-cruisepassagiers: bel Teague om een ophaallocatie te regelen. Raadpleeg de kaart op uw ticketvoucher om ligplaats 3 te vinden vanaf de kade van uw schip. De tijd die op uw ticket staat, is de vertrektijd van de tour. Wees stipt opmerkzaam en kom op tijd. Opmerking: Gezichtsmaskers zijn mogelijk vereist en worden indien nodig verstrekt. Als maskers vereist zijn en gasten ervoor kiezen deze niet te dragen, worden ze niet toegelaten op de tour en wordt er geen restitutie verleend.

Teague (I hope that is the right spelling) was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, affable, compelling. Thoroughly enjoyed our drive up into the high places around Ketchikan

Teague was a fantastic guide., very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a nice drive and we learned what the bears eat before hibernating and what they eat when they wake up.

We are big conservationist and eco-friendly people and we loved his passion for conservation. This is a great tour to get to know more about the local Ketchikan area and the backwoods nature in a beautiful Alaskan town!
We had a fabulous drive through the Tongass rainforest. We learned so much about the history of foresting in Alaska. Wonderful scenery and even saw a black bear. And five deer. highly recommend.

My wife and I had a wonderful and informative 2 h trip with Tigue. The countryside is beautiful and we even saw a deer. This is a perfect tour for seniors who want to see more of Ketchikan with an informative guide who is also very friendly. This was our last trip in Alaska and was a perfect ending for a great non cruise visit..but can also be done by cruisers!!
The SUV tour with Teague was wonderful. He was very professional and knowledgeable on the history of the Tongass National Forest and Ketchikan. He asked where we wanted to stop and took our pictures. We would definitely take his tour again and highly recommend the Backcountry Driving tour with Teague.
