Onze Keelung Shore Excursies naar Taipei pakken 8 uur van spanning. Eerste halte? De torenhoge Taipei 101, waar je je als een piraat in het kraaiennest voelt, maar met een prachtig uitzicht! Vervolgens navigeren we door de bruisende Dihua Street, waar zelfs de meest kieskeurige papegaaien schatten in overvloed zullen vinden. Houd je ogen open voor onverwachte verrassingen - of het nu gaat om capriolen van een straatartiest of een plotseling verlangen naar stinkende tofu! U hoeft zich geen zorgen te maken dat u verdwaalt; onze gidsen zijn zo betrouwbaar als een goed getrimd zeil. Honger? Vrees niet! We gaan voor anker bij lokale eetgelegenheden, waar u de culinaire schatten van Taiwan kunt proeven, van rundvleesnoedels tot ananastaarten. Voor fijnproevers is Dihua Street een culinair toevluchtsoord, met een breed scala aan traditionele Taiwanese snacks, streetfood en lokale delicatessen. U kunt genieten van verrukkelijke lekkernijen zoals oesteromeletten, gestoofde varkensrijst en traditioneel gebak, wat een heerlijke culinaire ervaring oplevert.

Bopiliao Historical Block binnenlopen is als een filmset binnenlopen waar de regisseur ongeveer 200 jaar geleden “actie” riep en nooit “cut”. De bakstenen zijn verweerd in diepe tinten rood en oranje, en de middagzon weerkaatst er als warm licht op in een periodedrama. Elke hoek lijkt een verhaal te vertellen, kooplieden die kruiden verkopen, families die koken achter gesneden houten ramen, een papieren lantaarn die lichtjes zwaait in de wind. Natuurlijk zie je nu misschien een paar trouwfoto’s maken voor diezelfde muren, of een toerist (hoi, dat ben ik) die om de anderhalve meter stopt om naar de textuur van een deurkozijn te staren. Bopiliao probeert je niet te imponeren met flash. Het is meer als een oude vriend die je een goed verhaal vertelt, detail voor detail.

Our tour was in TaiPei City, Taiwan with Viator . Our tour guide , Mr. Young Lin was outstanding. We had a very good tour of Taipei. We saw all the sights described, would be good if the 8 hour tour included lunch. Always challenging to find a guide who speaks fluent English in Taiwan.
Evan, our guide & driver provided a wonderful experience in Taipei. He met us at the cruise terminal which was a must. Over the course of the day, he demonstrated his knowledge of the sights, history, customs, religious traditions, and people of the region. We had many different experiences with him. Ate with locals in tiny noodle spot, wondered around 101, rode underground, watched changing of guard at Chiang Kai-Shek memorial, visited active temples, walked extensively around local sidewalk shops and neighborhoods. All in all, a tireing but very exciting day. In addition to his knowledge, Evan was a very nice, personable man. It was our pleasure to spend the day with him.

This was a top-notch tour from beginning to end. Benson picked us up in a comfortable vehicle and took us to many historic and cultural sites. He supplied plentiful information and was able to get us up close to each attraction with ease. I left a jacket in the van at the end of the tour, and he was kind enough to ship it back to the USA. I can't recommend him highly enough to anyone visiting Taipei. He will not disappoint.

We had a terrific private tour with Evan, who picked us up from the Keelung cruise port. We saw more of Taipei than we ever expected to be able to, including Taipei 101 tower and mall. Memorial Hall, Liberty Square plus changing of the guard, an MRT ride, Dihua Street (old town), lunch (self-paid), and Lungshan Temple. Given the timing of our visit, we also got to enjoy decorations celebrating Chinese New Year as well as the beautiful cherry blossoms. Evan was such a thoughtful and informative guide, and we really loved our tour. We were dropped off at the airport in plenty of time for our 10pm flight. I highly recommend this tour!
