Katherine Outback Experience is eigendom van en wordt geëxploiteerd door meerdere Golden Guitar-winnaar en ruiter extraordinaire Tom Curtain. De outbackshow biedt een uniek venster op het leven op het land in het binnenland van Australië. Het is ra en echt met paardenstart- en werkhonddemonstraties verstrengeld met Australische muziek en humoristische bushverhalen. Er is stof en chaos, en dingen gaan niet altijd volgens plan, maar dat hoort bij de schoonheid van het echte binnenland. Katherine Outback Experience won de beste NT toeristische attractie in 2018 en 2019, de beste NT Visitor Experience Award in brons 2018 bij de 2019 National Tourism Awards. Tom bracht zijn vierde album uit in november 2019, die debuteerde op nummer 1 op de Australische iTunes Country Music Charts. Hij heeft verschillende hitlijsten behaald, samen met het winnen van twee Golden Guitar Awards voor zijn hit single Never Never Land, evenals 2018 Australian Independent Country Music Album of the Year, Artist, Male Vocalist en Single of the Year.

Het team verzorgt een introductie over ons verhaal, geschiedenis en show. Een jong paard wordt de arena binnengebracht en het team gaat aan de slag om het paard live voor het publiek te trainen en de kunst van het paardenstarten te demonstreren. We leggen de psychologie tussen mens en paard uit en laten zien hoe we vertrouwen opbouwen. Als het paard klaar is om verder te komen, zadelen we het op en proberen we het te berijden, vaak voor de eerste keer. Geen enkel paard wordt meer dan drie keer gebruikt in de show. Vervolgens gaan we over op onze meer gevorderde paarden, waarbij we demonstreren wat er bereikt kan worden met voortdurende training en geduld. Gasten worden vervolgens doorverwezen naar onze grote arena waar we ons team van geweldige werkhonden naar voren brengen. We stellen elke hond voor voordat we laten zien hoe we ze trainen om als team te werken. De show is nooit compleet zonder enkele originele liedjes van Tom, uitgevoerd vanuit het zadel, met gitaar in de hand.

Interesting to understand about how horse handling is done when a young horse starts out. Watching the dogs train to assist in musters also interesting. Suitable activity for disabled walker. Cool water provided during show with an ice block to follow. I hoped we would have some country music as part of the live entry but this did not occur. Easy parking for larger vehicles. Maybe take a cushion to sit on as seats are a bit hard after a while.
We had a thoroughly lovely morning at the Outback Spectacular- the content was amazing, the interactions and training that Tom and Annabelle and Staff put in is incredible! We absolutely loved it! The iced facecloths,cold water and ice blocks at different intervals was a beautiful personal touch and kept us feeling refreshed and comfortable!

It was very enjoyable to listen to a little of the role of horsemanship and dog training in the outback. The experience was relaxing lighthearted and musical. Tom and his crew gave us all an informative show and were super friendly and accommodating.The providing the crowd with cool towels and ice blocks was a nice touch. It is also pleasure to support a worthy cause like Dolly’s Dream.
Perfect for all ages. Kids and adults. 5 stars. We are 50 and took my parents. We have just done the lap and this was by far one of the best things we have done

We had a great time. Enjoyed getting up close and personal with the animals and watching Tom and Jake working with the horses and dogs in the arena. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience, well worth the time.. Tom has a lovely voice, loved the Roper River song.. family immersive, both the horses and dogs are great to see and hear how it’s all done..
