De Nitmiluk-kloof bestaat uit 13 afzonderlijke kloven. Dit doolhof van waterwegen is ontelbare eeuwen lang door de rivier de Katherine gebeeldhouwd uit de zandsteen. Ervaar de schoonheid, geschiedenis en cultuur van het Nitmiluk National Park in het Northern Territory.

Als je eenmaal aan boord bent, zullen je bootchauffeur en Nitmiluk-riviergids het oude erfgoed van het landschap en de betekenis ervan voor de Katherine-regio en de Jawoyn-bevolking uitleggen. Tussen elke kloof is er een wandeling van 500 meter, waarbij je van boord moet gaan voordat je bij de boot in de volgende kloof gaat. Degenen die ervoor kiezen om de wandeling niet te doen, kunnen op de voorziene schaduwrijke plek gaan zitten. Degenen die ervoor kiezen om door te gaan naar de volgende kloof, krijgen tijdens hun wandeling de gelegenheid om oude rotstekeningen tussen de eerste en tweede kloof te zien.
Two Gorge Cruise (2 uur) Ontdek de culturele betekenis van de eerste 2 kloven voor de traditionele landeigenaren - de Jawoyn-bevolking. Geniet van een ontdekkingsreis door de prachtige Nitmiluk-kloof. Three Gorge Cruise (3 uur) Bereid je voor op een onvergetelijke ervaring terwijl je door de tijd en de 3 kloven van Nitmiluk Gorge reist. Bewonder de steile rotswanden terwijl het landschap opvallender wordt naarmate je verder de kloof in gaat. Fris u op met een duik en lichte versnaperingen voordat u terugkeert naar de Nitmiluk Boat Jetty. Dawn Cruise (2 uur) De kleuren van de vroege ochtend worden wakker als je uitkomt in de eerste kloof. Zie de mist opstijgen boven het gladde wateroppervlak, hoor de dieren in het wild bewegen van de nacht en adem de frisse, schone lucht in. Tijdens deze cruise kunt u de ongerepte schoonheid van de ochtend ontdekken - een onvergetelijke start van de dag en de droom van een fotograaf.

It’s the absolute best way to experience the gorge. We did the 2 gorge cruise and the walk between gorges was paved and easy. I recommend not missing the second gorge. We also did the short walk after the cruise. There was not much to see after the lookout and we may have started a little too late because it was very hot. Take plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat if you plan to walk.
Nice easy walk from the car park to the boat, if you do the 2 gorge cruise you have to get off 1 boat and walk about 500 mts over good and bad paths. Picture was from our helicoptor flight the day after, even more spectacular from up there.
Was well organised, friendly staff and very informative. Easy walk between gorges to swap boat. Light lunch after at Cafe was nice.

This was the absolute highlight of our NT trip. We did the 7am Nitmiluk Gorge tour and it was the perfect way to experience the gorge. The early morning light was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to see an amazing variety of birdlife and a freshwater croc along the way. The tour was made even more special by our phenomenal guide, who was born and bred in Katherine. His knowledge of the area, its history, culture and stories was second to none. He made the experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the NT 🌅

This is such a wonderful opportunity to see the best Australia has to offer. Gorges, rock art, crocodiles, and millions of years of history. The indigenous tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful in educating us about this amazing country. You will not regret doing this tour.

The tour was well run and our guide was very informative. The walk in between the 2 gorges was not too strenuous for a 66 year old with knee replacements. The scenery is amazing
Wonderful experience with knowledgeable guides sharing fabulous information in a safe environment. However I was surprised they didn't have Indigenous guides which I feel would've enhanced the experience providing authenticity and genuine knowledge of country.
