Samenvatting van de Kandy City Tour (1 dag) Tijdens deze 1 daagse tour zullen we de Kandy City verkennen, een van de grootste steden in de centrale provincie van Sri Lanka. Tijdens deze tour gaan we naar de volgende bestemmingen: Tempel van de Tandrelikwie / Bahirawakanda-tempel / Uitzichtpunt / Ceylon Thee Museum / Kandyaanse Dans / Gem Museum / Theefabriek. De gasten worden voorzien van comfortabele voertuigen van goede kwaliteit (type voertuig is afhankelijk van het aantal personen) met een chauffeur-gids om u te helpen met uw reis naar Kandy City.

Je bezoekt eerst de Tempel van de Tand (Sri Dalada Maligawa) om je stadstour door Kandy te beginnen. Dit is een zeer belangrijke plaats voor boeddhisten omdat de linker hoektand van de Heer Boeddha hier is vastgelegd. De Tempel van de Tand-relikwie is ook een door UNESCO aangewezen werelderfgoedlocatie in Sri Lanka.
Vervolgens bezoekt u Kandy Lake, dat u kunt zien in de buurt van de Tooth Relic Temple. De lokale bevolking noemde dit meer ‘Kiri Muhuda’. Dit is een uitstekende plek voor een ontspannen wandeling en een paar minuten ontspannen. Er wordt aangenomen dat het meer in 1807 werd gebouwd door koning Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
Na Kandy Lake bezoekt u vervolgens Kandy View Point. Dit is een mooie plek van waaruit je Kandy City kunt observeren. Het ligt op een paar meter afstand van het meer. Kandy View Point moet worden opgenomen in elke Kandy Tour-route.
Je volgende bestemming is de Bahirawakanda-tempel. Het gigantische Boeddhabeeld in deze tempel zal zeker mensen naar deze plek lokken. Iemand noemt dit ook wel ‘Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya’. Het enorme standbeeld is 25 meter hoog en kan naar de top worden beklommen. Dit is weer een geweldig uitkijkpunt om Kandy te observeren.
De lokale markt van Kandy is je volgende stop na het uitkijkpunt. Het ligt in het centrum van de stad en bestaat uit twee verdiepingen met een binnenplaats. Hier kunt u zien hoe lokale verkopers hun verkoopactiviteiten uitvoeren.
Het National Gem and Gemological Museum is de volgende stop op uw reisroute. Hier kun je alles leren wat er te weten valt over de Sri Lankaanse archeologie en hoe ze dateren van 4,6 miljard jaar geleden. Je zult ook het geluk hebben enkele zeldzame mineralen in dit museum te zien. De plaats is een uitstekende plek voor mensen die graag nieuwe dingen leren.
Volgens het Kandy City Tour-reisplan bezoekt u vervolgens een theefabriek. Je bent dus niet meer in de stad. Hier leer je het hele proces van het produceren van de beroemde Ceylon-thee van begin tot eind. Na uw bezoek aan de theefabriek moet uw volgende stop de Peradeniya Botanische Tuin zijn. Het is de grootste botanische tuin van Sri Lanka, met een oppervlakte van 147 hectare. Hier kun je bijna 4000 plantensoorten observeren. Naast de bloementuin trekt het ook bezoekers. De Peradeniya Botanische Tuin ligt op 6 km van de stad en is een leuke plek om ontspannen te verblijven.
Na de culturele dansshow is uw eindbestemming, op basis van de resterende tijd, het City Shopping Complex. Hier neemt u deel aan een winkelervaring. Je kunt ook souvenirs kopen om mee te nemen. Na het bezoek aan het winkelcentrum zetten we u veilig af bij het hotel, zodat u de Kandy City Tour met ons kunt afmaken!
'S Avonds kijkt u naar de Kandy Cultural Dance Show. Het wordt georganiseerd door de Kandy Lake Club, waar je veel traditionele dansen kunt zien. Deze dansen zijn ook te zien op het Kandy Esala Perahera-festival. Je zult het geluk hebben om enkele van deze dansen buiten het festival te zien.

My wife and I had an enjoyable full day of touring with Fazeel. We asked for a shorter tour and he was very accommodating to make sure we made it back to our hotel on time. Safe driver which is important in the traffic and the hills of Kandy. Excellent lunch stop with a nice view of the river.
