Kanazawa : Sushi & Japanse Koken op een 56 - Jaar Kookschool

Beschrijving

We wanted to thank Chef Suiji once more for an unforgettable night! You truly gave us the best experience in Japan so far! We enjoyed it so, so, so much and we will never forget it.From the very first moment, Chef Suiji welcomed us into his kitchen as friends and made us feel completely at home. He is an incredible entertainer—so funny, engaging, and enthusiastic! It is a fully hands-on experience where he keeps you constantly involved, making you do so many things yourself. What makes it truly special is his deep competence. Chef Suiji doesn't just show you how to cook; he explains the deeper meaning behind every step, the history of the culture, and the secrets of the traditional ingredients. We learned so much, had a blast, and of course, ate A LOT OF AMAZING FOOD! 🤩 Thanks for doing what you do and for spreading your authentic culture and passion. It is incredibly precious for people visiting Japan!!! ありがとうございました! — Christian & Mirko ✨
We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The chef uses a live translation app, which makes communication very easy. Only fresh, high-quality ingredients are used for the dishes you prepare. Best of all, you get to enjoy everything you made afterwards. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun and delicious time!
Thank you for your kind words! It was a pleasure having you in our class. I’m glad the translation system made everything easy to follow, and that you enjoyed cooking with our fresh local ingredients. For us, the best part is seeing everyone enjoy the food they made together at the end. We hope you’ll cook some of the dishes again at home. Have a great rest of your trip, and we’d love to see you again if you ever come back to Kanazawa!
We came as a family of 6. The workshop was great, the chef and his wife are adorable, they are very attentive to each of the participants. They speak a little English and have a very advanced translator that they use during the cooking class which makes communication easy. The atmosphere is very warm, we learn to cook typical Japanese dishes in a good mood and with laughter. On the menu four iconic dishes from Japanese restaurants including sushi. Vegetarian options are available but you must notify in advance by message or by call. At the end of the workshop, everyone tastes what they have prepared and receives a diploma with their name in Japanese! I recommend it a thousand times! Thanks again for this wonderful moment!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure to welcome your family. Seeing everyone cooking together, laughing together, and enjoying the meal together made us very happy. We're also glad that our translation system helped everyone feel comfortable during the class. We always try to make sure every guest can relax and enjoy Japanese cooking, no matter what language they speak. The translation is very accurate in English, but for other languages it's still not perfect. We hope it will continue to improve in the future, and we're happy that it helped you enjoy the class. Thank you for mentioning the certificate too. We hope it will remind you of your time in Kanazawa every time you see it. We hope your family will visit us again someday. Until then, keep cooking Japanese food together!
Chef Seiji is the best! Perfect balance of demonstration and hands-on. Food is delicious and I was very full! Also enjoyed learning cultural aspects about Japan. The AI translation was a big help - communication was fine. Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your kind review! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the balance between watching and cooking. I always want everyone to spend more time cooking than just listening. It also means a lot to hear that you enjoyed learning about Japanese culture. Understanding the stories behind the food is just as important to me as learning the recipes. I'm glad the AI translation helped us communicate smoothly. It's become a great partner in our classes! Thank you again, and we hope to welcome you back to Kanazawa someday.
First of all I did not want to attend, but finally gave in and went with wifey. It was awesome… had so much fun and experience was great. Had a great meal after we prepared it ourselves along with some sake of course. Don’t miss out on this one.
Thank you for your great review! I had to laugh when I read that you didn't want to come at first! I'm really glad your wife convinced you. 😊 It was a pleasure cooking with you both, and I'm happy you enjoyed the food, the sake, and the whole experience. Next time you're in Japan, please come and visit us again. We'll have another bottle of sake ready!
This Japanese cooking class was an absolute highlight of my trip to Japan! The hosts Chef Nakata and his wife were incredibly nice and welcoming, and you can expect to have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs in this cooking class. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for an enjoyable yet also informative food experience in Kanazawa. The translate tool the chef uses to translate from Japanese to English significantly aids in understanding what you are actually doing, and is also quite funny at times! I am a terrible cook, but I would strongly recommend this for beginner or moderate levels cooks who want to learn some new skills! An extremely personable and friendly experience, I left with a pack of Pokemon cards and burgeoning knife skills so I highly recommend this experience to everyone!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It means a lot to us to hear that our class was one of the highlights of your trip to Japan. You mentioned that you're not a very good cook, but you did a great job! We believe anyone can make delicious Japanese food with a little practice and the right techniques. I'm also happy that you enjoyed our translation system. It doesn't always translate perfectly, but those unexpected moments often make the class even more fun. I'm glad you enjoyed the Pokémon cards too. They're just a small surprise that we sometimes have for young children when we have extras. We hope you'll keep practicing your Japanese cooking at home, and we'd love to welcome you back to Kanazawa someday!
Seiji and Ikum welcomed us into their home and tested us to our favorite night on our trip to Japan. We were traveling as two families of 4 (parents and 2 teenage kids each) and it was the perfect family experience! Their kitchen and class set up were impeccable, their teaching style good for all levels, and the food was outstanding. We cooked, we learned, we laughed. We left full and happy with certificates in Japanese cooking. More importantly, we left with mew friends in Kanazawa. Highly recommended-do not miss this experience!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We had such a great evening cooking and laughing with your two families. It was lovely to see everyone, including the teenagers, enjoying the class together. We’re very happy that you enjoyed the food, the kitchen, and the Japanese cooking certificates. More than anything, we’re touched that you left feeling you had made new friends in Kanazawa. We felt the same way. Thank you again for spending such a special evening with us. We hope to see you all again someday!
Seiji and Ikum were incredible teachers and hosts, brining humor, warmth, and a whole array of Japanese cooking techniques. Our time with them was the singular highlight of our time in Japan, and everyone came away with even more connection and appreciation for the care, ingenuity, and flavors of Kanazawa. This is a must-book experience!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! We’re truly happy to hear that our cooking class was a highlight of your time in Japan. We had such a great time cooking, laughing, and sharing Kanazawa’s food culture with you all. Your kind words mean a lot to us. Thank you again for spending this special time with us, and we hope you’ll enjoy making Japanese food at home!
We had a great evening making and eating great food. Along with my wife and I there were 2 other couples in the class. Even though this was in a knife shop there was no attempted selling. The Chef spoke pretty good English but used a translation device so everyone, English and French could understand the instructions. Would highly recommend.
Thank you very much for your kind review. We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the evening and the food. It was a pleasure cooking with you. We’re also glad the translation system helped everyone enjoy the class together. As for the knife shop, we simply want our guests to have the chance to see and try Japanese knives if they’re interested. There’s never any obligation to buy. Thank you again for spending the evening with us. If you ever have any questions about Japanese cooking or knives, please feel free to message us anytime. We hope to see you again someday!
This experience was one of our favorite of our whole Japan trip! We learned so much and to top it off got to eat the delicious creations! They also sell high quality Japanese knives at a good value. They took photos of us and shared at the end and were so kind and patient with our novice skills. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re very happy to hear that our cooking class was one of your favorite experiences in Japan. It was a pleasure cooking with you, and we’re glad you enjoyed the food, the photos, and our Japanese knives. Thank you for recommending us!
