Dit is niet "hit elke beroemde plek" sightseeing. Het is een Kanazawa wandeling waarbij je Gids de stad vertaalt – en we ontdekken wat er verloren is gegaan in de vertaling: waarom Kanazawa zo mooi werd. De route is opgebouwd uit verhalen: Kenrokuen’s samengestelde natuur, Kaga Yuzen van dichtbij (materialen, ambacht, tijd), een matchapauze in een samoerai-verblijfstuin en de “iki” en “hana” van het theehuisdistrict.Je gaat verder dan stereotypen, het traceren van samoeraigeest → handwerk → elegantie. Kanazawa bloeide op als het Kaga Domein (“Kaga miljoen koku”), het grootste buiten de Tokugawa. Kaga werd in de gaten gehouden door het shogunaat en investeerde niet in militaire macht, maar in cultuur – hij beschermde ambachtslieden en voedde ambachten op als trots. Daarom wordt het “Klein Kyoto” genoemd, maar het is ook een samoeraistad: gratie met rustige spanning. Ideaal voor reizigers moe van spot-hoppen, ambacht / design / tuinliefhebbers, en Japan terugkerende bezoekers. Eerste keer hier? Geen zorgen – geen kennis nodig, minimaal jargon, flexibel tempo en kleine groepen voor eenvoudige vragen.

Begin bij Kinjo Reitaku Sacred Nou de plek die verbonden is met de oorsprong van Kanazawa’s naam
Bij Kanazawa Shrine, nog steeds dagelijks bezocht door studenten en lokale bevolking, begint de tour met een rustig gebed voor een onvergetelijke dag in Kanazawa.
Wandel door de Kenrokuen Garden, een landschap dat generaties lang door het Kaga-domein werd onderhouden
Wandel door het Kanazawa Castle-gebied om de kern van de voormalige kasteelstad te voelen
Bezoek een Kaga Yuzen-studio om het ambacht van dichtbij te zien, te leren en uit te proberen
Geniet van matcha in een verborgen samurai residentie, met een rustige tuin moment weg van drukte
Loop richting Higashi Chaya via een rustige backstreet brug bij de Asano rivier, ooit onderdeel van het traditionele Kaga Yuzen wasproces.
Na het oversteken van de Asano-rivier volgt u uw Gids door de achterstraatjes van Higashi Chaya, waar u zelfs een glimp van een geisha kunt opvangen of muziek van binnenuit kunt horen drijven.

- Het klimaat in Japan is extremer geworden, met zomerse pieken van 40°C en winterse dieptepunten van - 5°C (20°F). Bereid je dus goed voor op de tour. De tour kan worden geannuleerd in geval van ongeschikt weer om veiligheidsredenen.
- Het reisschema voor deze tour bevat enkele locaties die niet toegankelijk zijn met een rolstoel of kinderwagen.
- Uit respect voor onze andere gasten en om de beste tour voor iedereen te garanderen, moeten we de tour op tijd starten.
- U kunt niet deelnemen aan de tour, restitutie krijgen of een andere afspraak maken als u te laat bent voor de tour en de groep mist.

I really enjoyed this tour. In addition to seeing some of Kanazawa highlights, we got to visit a master artisan in his studio and drink tea in a geisha teahouse. Our guide was super knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to give us suggestions about what else to see after the tour, and he helped us find a sushi restaurant for lunch.

I really enjoyed the places we visited as well as many interesting facts that I learned from Tomo. It was an amazing experience seeing masters craftsmen working in Kaga Yuzen Studio. Also visits in Samurai house and Geisha house were really interesting. Fortunately there weren’t many people. I had a really good time and would definitely recommend this trip.
