Kanazawa Art : Lange traditie van Potter's Wheel Experience

Beschrijving

I had a great experience at the pottery studio but six months out and I’m still waiting to hear back on the pieces I made. Would request help in contacting them since only a google form was shared with me and I have no way to reach them.
Fantastic and unique experience! Teacher was patient and knowledgeable. We could have stayed much longer!
Really enjoyable tour of historic pottery works. Instruction to potter’s wheel/ceramics making by amazingly skilled craftsman and very kind assistance throughout the process to create your own pot. They will trim, glaze and fire your piece and ship to you when complete (shipping costs are extra). We loved the whole experience.
Our porcelain pottery experience at Kutani Kosen Kiln was one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to Japan. The studio is tucked away in a beautifully scenic part of Kanazawa, surrounded by charming little streets and close to both the Nishi Chaya and Nagamachi districts. It felt special from the moment we arrived. It ended up being just my partner and me, which made the experience wonderfully personal. We began with a brief but fascinating tour and explanation of the process before spending a full hour on the wheel with constant guidance from the master potter. It was definitely tricky at first, but incredibly fun and so satisfying. We each got to choose one piece to keep (with the option to pay for extras), which the team will dry, glaze, and fire before sending internationally in a few months - we only needed to cover the postage. My partner made a large matcha cup, and I made a small sake cup that I’m very excited to receive. A beautifully intimate, hands-on experience - highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanazawa!
I had a wonderful time, since I have not worked with ceramics before I was a bit anxious. But everything was explained step by step. The teacher spoke very good english. And i ended up with pretty decent tea cup.
This was so much fun! Very thoughtful instruction. Lots of hands on time and a lovely handmade product that is shipped (for a fee) 4 months later. We did with two teenage boys. Highly recommend!!!
The whole experience was fun. They taught us how to properly place our hands so that we didn’t butcher it and made some nice pieces to get mailed to us back home! We even got to be on Japanese TV.
Thank you for the Beautiful experience at the ceramic course! It was a lot of fun and very interesting. Also the care was very friendly and nice!
The kiln itself is a beautiful space in a lovely part of Kanazawa. My instructor was very patient and kind while I found my flow. I can't wait to get my creation back and have a lovely reminder of this experience.
Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m glad you enjoyed the time at the kiln and that you found your creative flow during the experience. I hope it brings back wonderful memories when it reaches you. Looking forward to welcoming you again in Japan!
