De inspanning heeft zijn beloning, het contact met de natuur, in de buurt van de stad Quito en bij aankomst op de Rucu Pichincha observeer de verwachting die deze vulkaan biedt. Het is een goede plek om te acclimatiseren aan de mensen die komen voor wandelen en trekking in de bergen van Ecuador. We pikken op van uw hotel om 9u30 in de ochtend richting de TeleferiQo van Quito waar ons avontuur de Ruco Pichincha vulkaan beroemd wordt.

Het avontuur begint in de ochtend, om 9 uur, we gaan aan boord van een hut van de Quito-kabelbaan, die ons naar de heuvel Cruz Loma op 4100 meter hoogte brengt, waar je de stad Quito kunt observeren van het noordelijke deel naar de zuidelijke gedeelte.
We zullen ongeveer 4 uur trekken, landschappen van de Andes Paramo oversteken, we zullen door de scherpe rotswanden van de Rucu Pichincha gaan, wat "Oud" betekent in de Quechua-taal, we nemen de weg naar de Arenal en beklimmen een gebarsten weg voor 1 meer uur en uiteindelijk komen we op 4784 meter boven zeeniveau, aan de top van Rucu Pichincha.

Fantastic ride on a cable car for about 15 minutes, through the clouds up to over 4000 metres. Fabulous walk to do at the top, if you have time and can manage the altitude. The coca leaf tea in the cafe definitely helps. A few gimmicky things at the top such as the opportunity to where a poncho and have your photo with a llama, and a swing that feels like it's on top of the world. I recommend going in the morning as it tends to get cloudier in the afternoon. Wrap up warm as it's also very chilly (we got hailed on!)

The cable car ride to higher elevation provided us with amazing views. We were fortunate to have good weather for most of the trip! Our guide Ricky was knowable and took great care of us. He even provided us bananas and stretching before the hike!!

Pedro & Carolina great team. Touched base before as cable car not operating. Turned up on time. I was very slow as struggled to acclimatise and Pedro very sensitive to that. Lunch was fresh healthy and filling. Thank you!! Transport was excellent too. The hike was super challenging but I did it!! And feel so great about that. Highly recommend

Me and my husband hiked volcano Pichincha and loved every minute if it. The entire hike there and back took about 5 hrs. Going down was much faster of course. The challenging hike in high altitude took our breath away but so did the views around us! Our guide Pedro is a person that absolutely in love with his country and with the job he does! He throughly explained us things about Ecuadorian volcanoes and nature. He knew the trails to adjust the routes to the suitable level if difficulty. Pedro made sure I got out safely of couple scary for me situations ( turns out I am afraid of heights lol). Before the hike started Pedro kindly provided us with local fruits and snacks which turned out vital to keep us going with this strenuous activity! In addition, it turned out while we were focused on our high altitude survival, Pedro took amazing pictures of us! Highly recommend this tour with Pedro and would absolutely do it again!
