Ontdek de Joodse wijk van Berlijn door de ogen van mensen die actief zijn in het joodse leven in Berlijn. Al onze gidsen zijn academici, die een lange tijd hebben besteed aan onderzoek naar de geschiedenis van de Joodse geschiedenis van Berlijn. Een uitgebreide wandeling door het gebied rond de Hackescher Markt, met verhalen uit het prille begin in de Middeleeuwen tot op de dag van vandaag.

We zullen de site van de oudste synagoge in Berlijn zien, die ons de kans zal geven om het vroege begin van de Joodse nederzetting in Berlijn te bespreken.
De site van het vrouwenprotest van Rosenstrasse, waar niet-Joodse vrouwen protesteerden vanwege de vrijlating van de Joodse echtgenoten.
De binnenplaatsen waar Oost-Europese joden woonden die aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw naar Berlijn immigreerden.
Bezoek het museum en hoor over het reddingsproject van een Duitse man genaamd Otto Weidt. Hij waagde het zijn zijn Joodse werknemers te redden.
De oude Joodse begraafplaats waar oa Mosses Mendelssohn werd begraven.

This was an incredible tour. We took our three kids to explore the Jewish history of Berlin. The stories we learned, sites we saw, and history lesson learned will stay with us forever. Highly recommend for anyone interested in exploring Berlin’s Jewish history.

We booked our tour of Jewish Lisbon through essenciaalatitude.com. From recommendations of others we requested that our guide be Diogo. To say the least, we were not disappointed. We look back at this tour with Diogo to be the highlight of our trip. His knowledge of the history of the Jews in Portugal cannot be underestimated. He was professional, warm and friendly and fun to be with. We learned so much not only about the history of the Jews in Portugal but also about the history of Portugal then and now. He pointed out small, but extremely important details that we would not have noticed. As a matter of fact, a group was near us and their guide missed this. A member overheard our guide and brought his friends back. Diogo did something that no other guide has ever done. The next day we received an email from him with a reading list and review of each place we visited. Jewish or not, if you are interested in history don’t miss this tour and don’t miss having Diogo as your guide.
