Deze 2,5 uur durende tour vindt elke vrijdagochtend plaats en biedt je de mogelijkheid om je te verdiepen in de geschiedenis van een van de meest verwoestende periodes uit de moderne tijd. Je wordt lid van een bestaande groep om het Holocaust History Museum te verkennen onder leiding van een van de professioneel opgeleide gidsen van Yad Vashem. Terwijl je elke galerij binnengaat, hoor je de verhalen achter honderden tentoongestelde voorwerpen terwijl je een van de populairste toeristische trekpleisters van Jeruzalem bezoekt. Enkele van de onvergetelijke tentoonstellingen die u zult tegenkomen zijn het Auschwitz Album, Schindler's List en de monumentale Namenhal.

Terwijl uw gids voorop loopt, komt u in het Holocaust History Museum, ontworpen door de wereldberoemde architect Moshe Safdie. De prisma-achtige driehoekige structuur penetreert de berg van de ene kant naar de andere, met beide uiteinden dramatisch vrijdragend in de open lucht. Je gids neemt je vervolgens mee door negen verschillende galerijen, elk met een ander 'hoofdstuk' in de geschiedenis van de Holocaust. Je zult authentieke posters, propaganda en antisemitische bordspellen tegenkomen die context bieden voor de ontwikkelingen in nazi-Duitsland in de jaren dertig. Op "Leszno Street" loop je over de kasseien van een gereconstrueerde straat uit het getto van Warschau. Andere hoogtepunten zijn het originele Auschwitz-album, een fotoalbum met het enige overgebleven visuele bewijs van het proces dat leidde tot de massamoord in Auschwitz-Birkenau en een kopie van "Schindler's List". Aan het einde van het museum is de monumentale Namenhal. Als u de ronde hal binnengaat, kunt u omhoog kijken naar het gewelfde plafond waarop de afbeeldingen van 600 mannen, vrouwen en kinderen worden getoond. Terwijl je naar beneden kijkt, zie je de foto's hieronder weergegeven in een plas water die diep in de bodem is gegraven. Aan het einde van de tour bent u van harte welkom om de rest van het uitgestrekte Yad Vashem-terrein en de campus in uw eigen tempo te verkennen.

It's a nice experience that teaches us about tolerance and history. Might be a bit tough for kids, but we went as a family with two young teenagers who understood what the museum is about. It's a heavy atmosphere, but totally worth it. Spent around 3 hours
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a historical perspective over a wide range of topics throughout the tour. I would have given 5 stars were the tour over an extended period of time. Not the fault of the tour guide, rather it was a Friday, and the Museum was closing at 12:30pm and there was zero time to spend in the gift shop.
An impressive experience, moving photos, ye laso my instagram, there are many fabimaranon, the building is spectacular, it smiles, modern and excellent, the audio guides look at my photos
It is a foolproof experience, to learn the story of this horrible stage of humanity that was lived with Nazism, and to say NEVER AGAIN
Well-kept and organized museum, surely the visit is mandatory for those who have a few more days in Jerusalem.
This was apart of our tour would of preferred not to go as we have been to auschwitz Germany. It pretty graphic and you can see clearly how horrible it was - it brought tears to my eyes the whole way through. You will need at least hour just to briefly go through the museum
This museum is excellent. It is an absolute must see. It was so sad and moving. There was so much information. It would take several days to be able to adequately see everything.
My wife and I have been to Yad Vashem twice. Both times were difficult as this might be the most moving experience I have ever had. As a child no one spoke about the Holocaust. It was never taught about it in religious school. I'm guessing the tragedy was something Jews wanted to forget about rather than remember. I never questioned why my grandfather had no relatives in this country not knowing his entire family had been killed in the camps. Today in many large cities we have memorials and museums to remember the victims. Not surprising the one in Israel is the largest as well as the most complete. Every person who visits Israel should go regardless of their religion. In that way by remembering the past hopefully in will never happen again in the future.
I think every person should visit there, hear about history, understand the unperceived reality that was and look at the present in a different way.
every peaple in this world need to be there ! so pain , lot of crying , how can it’s happen! never again !!!
