Deze begeleide tour neemt je mee over de archipel zonder de stad te verlaten. Verken traditionele huizen uit verschillende provincies, die elk unieke architectuur, gebruiken en manieren van leven vertegenwoordigen. Ontworpen in traditionele Balinese bouwstijl, biedt dit museum een dieper inzicht in de identiteit van Indonesië door middel van kunst, traditie en filosofie. Op de drie verdiepingen verken je de thema's diversiteit, menselijkheid en Indonesische beschaving - waarbij je artefacten, traditionele klederdracht, ceremoniële objecten en culturele uitingen uit de hele archipel samenbrengt.
Batik is meer dan alleen textiel, het is een taal van symbolen, verhalen en identiteit. Elk batikpatroon is door UNESCO erkend als Immaterieel Cultureel Erfgoed en heeft een diepe betekenis, van sociale status en regionale identiteit tot levensfilosofie.
Monas vertegenwoordigt meer dan onafhankelijkheid; het symboliseert eenheid over diversiteit, een natie opgebouwd uit duizenden eilanden, culturen, talen en tradities. Terwijl je het monument verkent, zal je Gids de betekenis ervan verbinden met het Indonesische leven van alledag en met hoe waarden als gotong royong (gemeenschapssamenwerking) en Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (eenheid in diversiteit) het land vormgeven.
Ervaar een van de krachtigste symbolen van de Indonesische identiteit in de Istiqlal Moskee, de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië. Meer dan een plaats van aanbidding, vertegenwoordigt Istiqlal de stichting van Indonesië als een natie gebouwd op geloof, tolerantie en eenheid in diversiteit. Tijdens uw bezoek zal uw Gids niet alleen de architectuur en schaal van de moskee uitleggen, maar ook de rol van de islam in het Indonesische dagelijkse leven, gevormd door de lokale cultuur, traditie en gematigdheid.
De kathedraal is gebouwd tijdens het koloniale tijdperk en staat symbool voor de multiculturele identiteit van Indonesië, waar verschillende overtuigingen in harmonie naast elkaar bestaan. Wat deze ervaring echt uniek maakt, is de locatie, direct tegenover de Istiqlal-moskee, de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië. Samen vertegenwoordigen deze twee plaatsen van aanbidding de toewijding van Indonesië aan tolerantie en eenheid.
Deze iconische antieke straatmarkt is een schatkamer van vintage verzamelobjecten, variërend van decor uit het koloniale tijdperk en traditioneel handwerk tot oude camera's, vinylplaten, sculpturen en zeldzame curiosa. Het is een plek waar geschiedenis, nostalgie en vakmanschap samenkomen. De prijzen staan hier niet vast, dus je kunt afdingen voor de beste koopjes.

We had a blast seeing Jakarta with Isabella. She was a fabulous and knowledgeable guide - she made suggestions of small itinerary changes that allowed us to see even more parts of the city. We knew we were in good hands. The air conditioned car and front door drop offs were a great touch that made everything stress free. I can’t imagine seeing the city any other way! Thanks!

This Park is huge and fantastic. However time allotted in quite less. I think this excursion should have atleast 5-6 hours and need not be clubbed with Monas or national museum. Even though there is excellent bus service inside, it's quite tiring and need a little slow pace. If one has to see all the houses and click pics, one needs a minimum of 5 - 6 hours. There is plenty to do and see.

I wish we’d had more time to explore all of the homes and museums. One favourite was the fresh water aquarium to see the large tropical fish. Once inside, open buses provide transportation within this very large site. We walked along wide sidewalks as the transportation was sometimes full when it reached our stop.

Mitchell was a wonderful and helpful tour guide. He was so accommodating to make sure we got the experience we wanted in Jakarta. We had a lovely day exploring his city. Our driver, Andre, was professional and navigated the streets well. Enjoyed our traditional lunch. Highly recommend Mitchell as he was engaging and sociable. Great tour.
The guide was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable! She spoke amazing English. She was attentive to our needs. The lunch was magnificent! Catherine was an absolute gem!
This place is getting better over the years, but there are several things can be improved : * Better general information on how to access this place when using different kind of vehicle. * There are a lot of (i can say) 'un-registered' seller around the area who sell item at steep price. * A lot of "guide" who act as if he was the employee of the place and offer their service to take visitor around, taking picture and ask us to buy their pictures. * Shuttle driver is not helpful. They are not trying to help exhausted visitor, we feel they avoiding customer and more focus on his own route. Suggestion : * If you can not walk more than 5 km a day, better to hire battery bike or scooter.
