Dit monument is afgebeeld in de vorm van twee personen. bestaande uit een jonge man en een jonge vrouw die een welkomstwoord geven. In de handen van de jonge vrouw is een bloemstuk te zien, bedoeld als welkomstwoord. Gelegen in het centrum van Jakarta en een van de beroemdste en meest herkenbare bezienswaardigheden in de stad Jakarta.
Merdeka Square is een centraal punt voor de stad Jakarta, die veel overheidsgebouwen heeft, zoals het kantoor van het ministerie, het presidentiële kantoor en zelfs het monument van Jakarta (Nationaal Monument) in het midden van het Merdeka-plein.
Bezoek het Nationaal Monument in het midden van het Merdeka-plein, een 132 meter hoog monument met een bladgoudvlam erop, dat de onafhankelijkheid van het land symboliseert. Dit is een van de hoogtepunten van Jakarta City. De kelder van het monument herbergt een tentoonstelling van 48 diorama's die de geschiedenis van Indonesië van de prehistorie tot heden weergeven. (Elke maandag is het Rijksmonument gesloten. Je kunt alleen het buitenterrein van het monument bezoeken).
Gelegen in Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, de kathedraal gebouwd in gotische stijl dateert uit 1891. Het heeft een hoge toren met hoge ramen versierd met glasschilderingen. Binnen in de kerk zijn 3 altaren die samen een halve cirkel vormen. Het heeft ook een prachtig oud altaar dat geluid weerkaatst als een schelphoorn.
De Istiqlal-moskee in Jakarta, Indonesië is de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië en de zesde grootste moskee ter wereld in termen van aanbidderscapaciteit. Istiqlal, wat 'onafhankelijkheid' betekent in het Arabisch. Gelegen in het stadscentrum, bijna tegenover de Nationale Kathedraal, is de moskee ook bedoeld als een symbool van vrede en religieuze tolerantie. Let op: de Istiqlal-moskee is elke vrijdag gesloten.

Old Town Batavia geeft je het gevoel alsof je in Amsterdam bent, omdat het hele gebouw in dit gebied een Nederlandse bouwstijl heeft
De oude haven van Jakarta, gelegen in het hoofd van Batavia. Onderweg, de oude "ophaalbrug" uit 17 eeuw. Deze haven is de eerste die door Portugezen en Nederlanders werd gebruikt toen ze in Indonesië aankwamen.

The guide Fajar was excellent, very knowledgeable on the history of Indonesia, also Indah a new tour guide who provided a lot of good information too. This was a private tour and the driver Bobo was always waiting to pick us up when finished at a site. Each site we stopped at was great and historical, highly recommend this tour.

This half day visit to the highlights in Jakarta was very well organised. The tour agency and the assigned guide were very responsive. The visit started punctually. Catherine is very knowledgeable on the history of Indonesia, and on the specifics related to the sites we visited. We got to see the Istiqal Mosque, the Catholic Cathedral, the National Monument and museum, parta of the old town including a traditional puppet making workshop and the harbor. She is a good communicator and explains things very eloquently. She has a great sense of humour.

My son and I really enjoyed the tour. Pinkan was a great guide, knowledgeable and articulate. She answered all pur questions well and was such a pleasing and patient lady. She wss happily offering to take our pictures as well. We had the car all to ourselves. Our travel also effciently navigated through the streets of Jakarta and we never really to wait long for him.

During business trip from the U.S., first time in Indonesia, I went on a half-day Jakarta tour with the highly knowledgeable guide Thomas. It was a highly enjoyable and informative tour, we covered all major sites including independence square, national museum, main cathedral, world’s 3rd largest mosque, old town and port, even the shadow puppet theater and a historic Batavia Cafe. I learned a tremendous amount from Thomas, the narrative was fun, a new air conditioned car was skillfully driven by driver Andy, and I had time and help buying souvenirs and trying local coffee and amazing pastries (yuzu meringue is my favorite). Thomas took excellent pictures of me that I sent to my kids. This was a memorable experience that made me feel like a local, and got me to appreciate Jakarta and its warm, welcoming people. I highly recommend this tour to travelers interested in experiencing Jakarta’s hidden gems and spending enjoyable four hours without strenuous walking or riding public transport in the heat.

Rizky was extremely knowledgeable in sharing Indonesia history and the highlights in Jakarta. Given the busy traffic and heat, it was delightful to have an air-conditioned vehicle and private driver to go to the various sites. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour!
