Reis als een local met het openbaar vervoer en volg een zorgvuldig uitgestippelde route die schilderachtige uitzichten, historische bezienswaardigheden, traditionele bazaars en oude ruïnes combineert. Bezoek de historische lift voor een prachtig uitzicht over de baai van Izmir en ga vervolgens verder naar het Konak-plein en de iconische klokkentoren van Izmir. Verken het sfeervolle Kızlarağası Han, waar traditionele winkels en lokaal vakmanschap het lange commerciële erfgoed van de stad weerspiegelen. Ga verder via Kemeraltı Market, een van de oudste en levendigste wijken van Izmir. Wandel door de smalle straatjes, ontdek lokale bedrijven en eetkraampjes en ervaar het authentieke ritme van het dagelijks leven voordat u het Agora Openluchtmuseum bezoekt, waar de overblijfselen van het oude Smyrna het Romeinse verleden van de stad onthullen. Ontmoeting bij de Clock Tower met onze gids om 10.00 uur 's ochtends.
Een eeuwenoud gebouw geschonken door de joodse filantroop zakenman Nesim Levi. De lift in het gebouw vervoerde vroeger mensen en koopwaar over de steile klif tussen de twee delen van de wijk. We nemen de tram naar Ancient Asansor en Dario Moreno Street, waar we de hele stad kunnen bekijken om goede foto's te maken. Het openbaar vervoer wordt betaald door onze gids.
De elegant ogende klokkentoren heeft de Ottomaanse architectonische kenmerken, bekend als het symbool van Izmir siert het Konak-plein net als een parel. De klokkentoren werd gebouwd door Grand Vizier Said Pasha ter gelegenheid van het 25-jarig jubileum van Sultan Abdulhamid II's beklimming van de troon in 1901. Het heeft een hoogte van 25 m met vier fonteinen rond de cirkelvormige basis.
En oude bazaar uit 1744 met een unieke Ottomaanse architectuur met rechthoekige plattegronden van bijna 4000 vierkante meter, met twee winkelgedeelten genaamd "Çuha" en "Cevahir"
Lunch is niet inbegrepen, maar je krijgt wel een suggestie van onze gids. En we geven je vrije tijd voor de lunch. De lunchtijd kan worden gewijzigd, afhankelijk van de groepsgrootte.

Izmir is a city that deserves at least a few days on your itinerary. There are countless attractions and beautiful destinations within a 1 to 2-hour drive, making it an excellent base for exploring the region. The people are friendly and welcoming, the food is outstanding, and getting around is easy. Renting a car is highly recommended, as driving in and around Izmir is much more relaxed and manageable than navigating the heavy traffic in Istanbul. If you're planning a trip to Turkey, Izmir is definitely a destination you shouldn't miss.

Our guide in Izmir, Ekim, was excellent. He expertly guided us through multiple means of public transportation to visit the city’s many sites. We took a historic public elevator to view the city from the ancient Asansor building. While at the top, we stopped for a cup of Turkish coffee to enjoy the view and get to know one another. We then visited the ancient Government Agora archeology site and the Antique Bazaar with its many shops and coffee houses. We had a bonus stop at one of the oldest mosques in the city to view the elaborate marble work and high domed ceilings. Finally, we visited Konak Square to view the iconic clock tower. Ekim was a fantastic guide and provided insights into his life in Izmir as well as excellent information on the sites we visited.

An unmissable tour in Izmir, with an exceptional guide like Herman who speaks perfect Spanish, knowing the most important places like some of its Mosques, the clock square, its market, the agora , the elevator and viewpoint with our guide who made this activity an unforgettable experience, exceeded all our expectations.

Interesting tour in general. Would like more information from guide. Many times quiet and not forward with information. Had to ask many questions. Encourage guide to create more relationships with market vendors and share their stories. Two vendor stops with known owners made for a delightful visit. Would want more of this along with history.

It was wonderful to see Izmir through Erman’s eyes. Erman , in great detail gave us the history of Izmir leading upto the present day city. He took us to some wonderful neighbourhoods through an ancient lift. We had some refreshments with a beautiful view of the city. Our walk through the Kemeralti market gave us a flavour of the city’s bazaar. His attention to details while explaining the neighbourhood synagogues was on point He gave us a very detailed history of the Agora and its ruins All in all, Izmir came alive through his enthusiastic details and we were very happy to have done the tour with him

We really liked the tour of Smyrna, the great Erman guide, took us to the interesting places of the city, left us enough free time to drink, eat and rest.
