OVER HET EVENEMENT Ga op een buitengewone reis met de beroemdste aria's en duetten uit de grootste Italiaanse opera's. Geniet van muziek uit opera's zoals Le Nozze di Figaro van W.A.Mozart, La Traviata van G.Verdi, Madame Butterfly, Tosca en La Bohème van G.Puccini en Elisir d'Amore van G.Donizetti, geïnterpreteerd door professionele zangers die hebben opgetreden in de belangrijkste Italiaanse en internationale theaters, uitgevoerd met pianobegeleiding. De avond wordt gehouden in het ‘NAZARENA’ Theater, waar u een drankje aangeboden krijgt en kunt genieten van een buitengewoon panoramisch uitzicht over Taormina. Bij het ticket is een gratis drankje op het prachtige, panoramische terras inbegrepen. Avondopera's worden gehouden op 5 avonden elke maandag-, dinsdag-, woensdag-, donderdag- en vrijdagavond om 9.15 uur

As neither my wife nor I are great opera goers we had reasonably low expectations for our enjoyment. We were very pleasantly surprised. The baritone singer, Graziano D’Orso had a great voice but our favourite was the soprano, Ester Ventura, who was absolutely amazing. Must not forget the pianist, Antonio Gennaro. who also did a couple of solos. Our favourite songs were the duets. We were pleased that it was not one opera, but lots of snippets as that gave the performers an opportunity to show their talents. A really good evening.

This is a great experience - well known operatic arias and duets in an intimate setting - a small theatre (140?? seats) even those with only the slightest acquaintance with opera will find much to enjoy.
The venue was nice and for people who don't know much about opera the music was enjoyable especially in the second half.
Well worth a visit - only €30 - which includes a glass of prosecco at half time. Cute little theatre in Taormina - with different performances.
Although we didn’t know the first 3 songs we still impressed by their singing and piano playing and the rest of the night was great with a couple of encores with good humour
What a fabulous experience! Some of our party were reluctant to give this a try, given they’re not into operas generally, but everyone left with beaming smiles and wanting more. We all appreciated the fantastic voices despite the songs being sung in Italian (and none of us understanding many of the lyrics). The production was very well put together and we were all massively struck by all three performers' talent. This was extremely enjoyable.
Wow, this is such a quality performance. Varied each night, the opera singers and piano playing (who remains consistent each night) was out of this world. 30 Euros per ticket (for aged 6 and up) and relatively simple to book (booth opens at 6.30 and closes at 8.45, as viewers arrive). The show is just over an hour long with an interval. Small snacks and alcohol/water offered during the interval. Thoroughly worth it.
Nothing against the singers but it is supposed to be a top 10 of the best opera works. It is not for opera experts but more to give a taste of opera to tourists who dont know so much about it. All time favorites are advertised and played on a record player as you pass or wait in line...then when you are inside the music is completely different. As i said, nothing against the singers but it was a big disappointment
