Istanbul staat bekend als de stad op de zeven heuvels. Dus hoewel Sultanahmet compact lijkt, is het regelen van vervoer zinvol. Tijdens deze dagtour reis je in een Mercedes Sprinter-minibus direct vanaf je deur. Bekijk het Hippodroom, de Blauwe Moskee, de Hagia Sophia, de Grote Bazaar, het Topkapi-paleis en de 6e-eeuwse Hagia Irene-kerk.

Hippodroom. Het was het centrum van sportactiviteiten van Constantinopel. Beroemd met 4 monumenten, de Duitse fontein van Wilhelm II, Egyptische Obelisk, Serpentine Column, Column of Constantine.
Blauwe Moskee, ook wel bekend als de Sultanahmet-moskee (wordt nu gerenoveerd), dit adembenemende gebouw is een van de meest majestueuze Ottomaanse moskeeën in heel Turkije. Ook werd het gebouwd met unieke 6 minaretten. (Vrijdag gesloten)
Haghia Sophia, is het beroemdste museum in Turkije en een van de grootste wonderen van architectuur. Haghia Sophia werd gebouwd als een kerk in de 6e eeuw door keizer Justinianus en vervolgens in 1453 gerenoveerd tot een moskee door de Ottomaanse keizer Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Het werd in 1935 omgebouwd tot een museum en het werd in 2020 omgebouwd tot een moskee en verwelkomde zowel lokale als buitenlandse bezoekers.
Het Topkapi-paleis, dat al vele jaren de thuisbasis is van de Ottomaanse dynastie, was een educatief administratief en kunstcentrum van de staat. Krijg kennis over de keizerlijke schatkist heilige islamitische relikwieën, paleiskeukens, wapens. (Dinsdag gesloten)
Hagia Irene ook wel "St. Eirene" of "St.Irene's" kerk. Het is een van de oudste Byzantijnse kerken in Istanbul, was de 2e grootste kerk van het Oost-Romeinse rijk na de Hagia Sophia. (Dinsdag gesloten)
Grand Bazaar, is de grootste markt en het meest aantrekkelijke winkelcentrum van Istanbul met veel winkelmogelijkheden met tapijten, leer, sieraden, Turks fruit, goud, antieke tegels enz. (Gesloten op zondag en officiële feestdagen)

The tour is mixed with different groups who paid for different experiences. This makes it a different experience for everyone and inconsistent.

There is alot of walking on this tour the only bus ride is to pick you up in the morning and then delivery you back to the hotel at the end of the day

Viewing and going inside the Sultan Ahmed and Hagia Sophia Mosques. What amazing architecture and history associated with these iconic buildings of Istanbul.

The price offered on Viator is a little deceiving. You know going in that it does not include admission to Hagia Sophia or the Palace. Assuming that you would buy your own tickets on arrival would be wrong. In our case, the tour guide had the tickets, but you had to pay him, CASH. And it doesn’t happen until you are at the second venue requiring tickets, you do not have this information up front. One ticket was in Lira and the other Euros which made it all the more confusing. We were pretty much stripped of all our cash at that point. The first part of the tour was wet and rainy. We visited the Blue Mosque. Make sure your dress, skirt or shorts are not too short. I would recommend pants for everyone. Also, your head covering at the Mosque might not suffice for Hagia Sophia. We took a side trip to a carpet, jewelry and leather shop which was apparently either owned by the tour company or a friend of our guide. This was not on the itinerary and was a waste of time. Just before 2 pm, we met with another group to tour the palace. They had also been misled about the collection of funds for the tickets. They were also under the impression they were to visit Hagia Sophia that we had done in the morning. Our tour ended at the Grand Bazaar, but we were limited in time and now funds. Our guide also had friends there and he directed us to their shops. Lunch was good. It was a fairly large meal and they actually had my vegan selection.

Overall had a good experience, drinks are not included with lunch. The tour lady was very knowledgeable and patient.

Great tour! The tour guide Ferhat was excellent, he was so knowledgeable and able to tell us so much history. We booked at the last minute and they really worked with us going out of their way to arrange the tour for us. The food was great and it was nice to be able to go from place to place using the ticket they provided. We would definitely recommend taking this tour, especially if it is your 1st time. We plan to go back and are going to use them the next time also. If you want the best you want to use them!!!!!
