Deze tour is gericht op het laten zien van Quito in de juiste context op basis van de geografie, geschiedenis, cultuur en structuur van de stad. We bezoeken de belangrijkste plaatsen in chronologische volgorde in de geschiedenis van de stad zodat u het juiste idee heeft en kunt genieten van een van de mooiste en best bewaarde steden in Zuid-Amerika. We zullen weten hoe belangrijk het is om in het midden van de wereld te zijn, de geschiedenis van de inwoners, en wandelen door de straten, de meest traditionele plaatsen voor onze cultuur, legendes en manieren van leven. Een inleidend bezoek aan de exacte plaats waar de equatoriale lijn passeert, een interactief museum waar je de verschillende gravitatie- en lichtverschijnselen kunt zien die we in de stad hebben. (ter plaatse betalen) $5
Het hoogste aluminium standbeeld! Panecillo's maagd; Quito's voogd. Plaats waar we kunnen leren over de nederzettingen die zijn ontstaan in de plaats en het gebruik ervan, evenals over zo'n ongelooflijke gigantische sculptuur die zo'n prachtige stad siert. Er is ook de optie van het gaan naar het interieur van de maagd, het hangt af van de tijd dat we in de plaats. (ter plaatse betalen) $1
De eerste kerk die we gaan bezoeken, waar we naar de torens gaan, klokkentorens en we hele mooie foto's kunnen maken terwijl we een beetje geschiedenis vertellen.
(Seven Crosses St.) Traditionele straat in het historische centrum van de stad, waar we doorheen zullen lopen om de reden voor zijn naam en geschiedenis te begrijpen.
Om een context van het moderne leven in een oud gebied te hebben, kunnen we de geschiedenis van de stad begrijpen, evenals de verschillende tijden die belangrijke veranderingen in de stad en het land hebben gekenmerkt.
Lunch op een van de meest traditionele plekken in Quito, ik heb twee opties en beide met meer dan 200 jaar dienst. Ze hebben lunchspecials en à-la-cartegerechten. Zeer goede service en altijd een prettige ervaring. ($ 12)

Een bekende jezuïetenkerk van barokke oorsprong, waar we de glans van goud en de verschillende artistieke invloeden die het sieren kunnen ervaren.
Loop snel door deze kerk om een andere religieuze en historische stijl te zien en te vergelijken. Je hebt onderweg ook de mogelijkheid om de verschillende winkels te bekijken.
Kerk vol verhalen van vóór de kolonisatie, van de Franciscaanse orde, de symboliek en kunst wordt op een heel bijzondere manier weerspiegeld.
Een van de meest traditionele straten van het oude Quito, een plek waar prachtige gedichten en kunstenaars uit die tijd werden geboren.
Keer terug naar het hotel of naar de afgesproken plaats om je aan het einde van de tour af te zetten.

De auto is een KIA Seltos in donkergrijze kleur, en ik draag een grijs poloshirt en een bruine bril. Ik haal je op bij de hoofdingang van je huis. Help me met de naam. Aarzel niet om contact met mij op te nemen na boeking indien nodig. De beschikbaarheid van sommige plaatsen/activiteiten kan variëren afhankelijk van het weer, de status van de weg en politieke kwesties. Ik heb alternatieve plannen. Daniel was an incredible guide. His English was flawless, his interpersonal skills and easy going nature made the sites and visits all the more interesting because he was so lovely to talk to. The places we visited were interesting and he was flexible with me about what I wanted to see.

The tour guide is ok. He steered us to a tourist trap restaurant which was mediocre at best. He didn’t pay for his own drink and lunch—-we did. He told us to tip at this restaurant. We found out later that the tip and tax was already included in the price. He purchased admission tickets with my money and kept the change. While knowledgeable, guide was a little sketchy.
This wasn't with me. Wrong tour.
Daniel was an amazing wealth of knowledge. Not only did he share the history of the places we visited but he was full of so many other facts/beliefs that we aligned with. We felt his fee was such an amazing deal and feel he should be shared with everyone who visited Quito. We will be sure to spread the word to our Canadian peeps.

Our time in Quito started out a little rough with one of us suffering altitude sickness. Daniel was quick to answer our message needing a later start for the tour and suggested a remedy for the sickness of dark chocolate and water (it worked pretty well). By 10:30 a.m. we were on our way, Daniel adjusted the day to make it easier and at a slower pace to deal with the altitude sickness. We visited El Panecillo, the giant statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the city, here he explained about the battles for the city and the history preceding European settlers. (Much of prehistory is lost to lava flow over the millennia). From here we went to the main square of Quito and visited several churches, the most impressive was the Golden church of the Jesuits. It is adorned with 7 tons of gold leaf. Everything was beautiful. Daniel had a vast knowledge of the religious symbolism in the churches, and was able to show us how Christianity was introduced to the people of the region who had no concept of heaven or hell. He will tell you so many interesting things including how the church incorporates the indigenous peoples symbols for the sun and many other links between these early people. After a stop for lunch, where we enjoyed guaguas de pan and colada morada (food and drink consumed to observe the day of the dead), we were off to the Intiñan Museum at the equator. This museum, located on the actual equatorial line, had a wonderful guided tour that first discussed the history of the indigenous people of the region. Displays included real shrunken heads, animal displays and a structure made in the traditional way that keeps it insulated from the equatorial heat. There is then the demonstrations of the equatorial phenomena like the Coriolis effect and the magnetic center of the earth. You can make pix standing on the line and all the other things. Even balanced an egg on a nail. It was a lot of fun. Daniel then returned us to our hotel about 6 p.m. after our day of exploring the city. In spite of our own rough start, Daniel came through for us and we thank him. If you’re looking for an intellectual tour of the city, a lively discussion of history, religion, indigenous people, nature, and culture, Daniel is your man!

The tour provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the marvelous city of Quito. The tour consisted of two parts: the equator and the old city of Quito (including Panecillo Hill). Both attractions are truly unique, like nowhere else. Exploring them with such a fantastic guide as Daniel was a pure pleasure and an unforgettable experience.
