Bezoek deze werkelijk unieke ijsgrot onder de Katla-vulkaan, ook wel bekend als de ijspoort "Dragon Glass". Wees getuige van de adembenemende combinatie van vuur en ijs in een van de zeldzaamste natuurfenomenen. Ga met ons mee op een Super Jeep tot aan de gletsjer en rijd door mooie vergezichten van wat op Moss Wonderland lijkt. Zodra u een natuurlijke ijsgrot binnengaat. Je zult het gevoel hebben dat je een kijkje neemt in de hooglanden terwijl je geniet van de rit helemaal door het land en de majestueuze bergen en mosvelden bewondert.

Het uitzicht in de Ice Cave is echt spectaculair de combinatie van de kleuren van het ijs, krijg je de kans om een aantal geweldige zwarte ijs evenals een aantal blauwe ijs kenmerken te zien. De Katla Ice Cave is werkelijk uniek. De ijsgrot bevindt zich in de Kötlujökullgletsjer, een uitlaatgletsjer van de Mýrdalsjökullgletsjer. Onder de gletsjer wacht de machtige vulkaan Katla waar zowel de gletsjer als de ijsgrot hun naam aan ontlenen. De tour vertrekt vanuit het dorp Vík waar je op een Super Jeep stapt die je naar de ijsgrot brengt. Daar zet je stijgijzers en een helm op om je voor te bereiden op een wandeling in de natuurijsgrot. Uw Expert Gids zal u alles vertellen over de gletsjer en hoe de ijsgrot gevormd wordt door moeder natuur. - Rijtijd naar Vík vanuit Reykjavík is ongeveer 2 uur en 30 minuten bij goede wegomstandigheden. Houd er rekening mee dat als u na vertrektijd aankomt, uw plaats op de tour niet kan worden gegarandeerd of terugbetaald.

We booked this experience last minute and are so glad that we did! The photos don’t do it justice. The ice mixed with the volcanic ash is so stunning to see in person. There was a short/manageable hike up to the cave. The cave itself is magnificent. Beda was an incredible tour guide. He had us laughing the whole time. Not to mention he takes great photos! If you’re in the Vik area, I would highly recommend this over the lava show. Bring gloves and a smile. There’s no problems, only solutions ❤️
This tour exceeded expectations. Our guide, Nat, was super cool and knowledgeable. Logistics were easy. Experiencing the glacier that close up was memorable.

Amazing experience! It exceeded all expectations. Hiking around the glacier felt like being on a totally different planet. We got to see mountains from Game of Thrones and Star Wars along the way. And even saw a location from Interstellar! Our guide, Edgar was so friendly and full of energy. Seeing the layers of volcanic ash protecting the glacier was so cool. Overall we would recommend the tour to everyone.
We had a great trip w Syra. She was an excellent guide and driver. I appreciated that she took us to a viewpoint before the glacier and gave us time to take photos. She was very knowledgeable about glaciers and was overall a wonderful host. Great booking and touring experience.
This tour was excellent and Beda was a fantastic guide! He is very knowledgeable, patient, kind and funny. We learned a lot about the glacier and had plenty of opportunities to take photos and videos. The trip to the glacier was beautiful and the hike up to the cave was amazing but well prepared. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you want to not only get onto the glacier but also experience being inside an ice cave!
We had such a wonderful time on this excursion. The meeting place is easy to find in Vik with plenty of parking available. The cookies and hot chocolate at the beginning and end are a very welcome addition to the experience (as noted by my children). The glacier is spectacular and our guide was very knowledgeable explaining everything we were seeing and answering SO many questions. The cave itself is truly breathtaking and well worth the walk up to it. I highly recommend this excursion for anyone traveling to Iceland, young and “seasoned” people alike.
It was an awesome experience. Our tour guide was Beda and was excellent. He was very patient and answered all our questions. It’s a very close encounter with iceberg and will not get another opportunity. It is worth the money. I definitely recommend to others.
Gabriel, our tour guide, was so interesting. He really did a great job and you could tell he really cared about the glacier/cave. Beg him to tell you the raven story, even better if he enhances it with his video!
Great ice cave tour , not too cold. A little strenuous hiking to the cave but not too bad. Definitely worth it!
