Ga met ons mee op deze 4,5 uur durende tour en ervaar de hoogtepunten van Jakarta, georganiseerd door een lokale Indonesische gids die persoonlijke inzichten deelt in de mensen, de bezienswaardigheden en de diverse en rijke cultuur van een van 's werelds grootste en meest fascinerende steden. We ontmoeten elkaar bij het toegangspunt "MONAS IRTI" tot het Nationaal Monument van Indonesië. Vervolgens bezoeken we de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden in de stad, waaronder: *Nationaal Monument *Autovervoer naar de kathedraal (15 min) *Jakarta-kathedraal, de grootste christelijke heilige plaats in Indonesië *Istiqlal-moskee, de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië en de derde grootste ter wereld *Treinrit naar de oude binnenstad (30 min) *Kota Tua, het historische koloniale plein van Jakarta *Lokale Indonesische ambachten en kunsten *Geschiedenismuseum van Jakarta *Autotransport naar Chinatown (15 min) *Jakarta's Chinatown *Lokale traditionele markten met exotische smaken en versnaperingen *Jakarta's boeddhistische tempel We eindigen bij de ingang van het Holiday Inn Jakarta Gajah Mada. Verken het terrein en de hoge uitkijktoren van deze bekende obelisk, gebouwd ter herdenking van de Indonesische onafhankelijkheid van Nederland. Toegang tot het terrein is gratis, maar voor de 'optionele torenbeklimming' wordt een kleine vergoeding gevraagd.
Maak een korte wandeling rond het terrein van de kathedraal en bekijk het interieur en exterieur van de kathedraal, evenals de gebedstuin. Dit demonstreert een interessante nevenschikking van cultuur en religie in Jakarta tijdens de tour, waarbij christelijke tradities worden getoond naast de (meerderheids) islamitische tradities en ook boeddhistische tradities.
Verken de grootste islamitische moskee in heel Zuidoost-Azië, met een gastvrije uitnodiging van het moskeepersoneel om het binnen- en buitenterrein en de structuur te bekijken.
We rijden met de trein om het bruisende historische centrale treinstation van de stad te zien en zien zowel het moderne Indonesië als een glimp van het Jakarta van vroeger.
Het historische en culturele centrum van het oude Jakarta (Kota Tua, de "oude stad"). Ontdek met ons de verschillende delen van het plein, waaronder lokale ambachten en kunst, musea, straatartiesten, activiteitencentra, livemuziek en lokale gerechten waar zowel Indonesiërs als reizigers van genieten.
Neem deel aan een rondleiding door dit boeddhistische heiligdom uit 1650, met traditionele Indo-Chinese architectuur en religieuze kunst.
We rijden erheen om de markten, eetgelegenheden en levendige dagelijkse activiteiten in het beroemdste Chinatown-centrum van Jakarta te zien. Hier kunt u een delicatesse of twee uitproberen, of stoppen voor een rustgevend koud drankje, terwijl u het exotische marktaanbod bekijkt.

Fifi was our guide and we had a fantastic tour with her. She has excellent English and was very knowledgeable about history and culture of Java and Indonesia. She answered all our questions, was very cheerful and friendly and made the tour quite enjoyable. Our group consisted of two couples on a limited time schedule, and she adjusted the itinerary to spend more time or less time in various places given our preference. I highly recommend her and this trip. It was an excellent value and so much more enjoyable than being on a motorcoach with 30 other people!

My shared tour got converted to a private tour as I was the only one for the tour today - and boy that was the best thing that happened. Fifi is one of the best tour operators I have been with. She takes her job seriously and she knows her stuff. She gets into detail of every location and tries her best to give the truest picture of history. A superb tour in all respects; Fifi is incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about both contemporary Jakarta and Indonesian history. Her friendliness, honesty and diplomacy were a credit to her. The tour was well planned and the use of the local train to cross town for example made the use of our time very efficient. A great tour to orientate you to navigating the city if its your first time here. Fifi offers several tours outside of Jakarta also, and her English is brilliant. Very happy.
