Beschrijving
U gaat op een unieke route op de fiets die Verona hoogtepunten en verborgen hoekjes op hun best onthult, vergezeld van deskundige en gastvrije lokale officiële gidsen. U zult opgaan in de knoop van steegjes van het historische centrum, maar ook de kans hebben om de stad te bewonderen vanuit een adembenemend panoramisch oogpunt. Aan het einde van de tour heb je Verona's hoogtepunten gezien, verborgen hoekjes ontdekt en vertrokken met verhalen die je lang na je reis zult onthouden.

Je begint je fietstocht en springt op het zadel van je fiets om naar Piazza Bra te gaan, waar je niet kunt ontsnappen aan een nauwe ontmoeting met het kolossale roze getinte marmeren amfitheater, de Romeinse Arena, het legendarische openluchtoperahuis van de stad, waar je samen met liefhebbers van over de hele wereld, een nacht vol muziek van wereldklasse beleven, verlicht door tienduizenden kaarsen
Fiets naar Porta Borsari, de oude Romeinse poort die dateert uit de 1e eeuw na Christus, en bereik het marktplein, Piazza delle Erbe, ooit het forum van de stad, tijdens de tijd van het Romeinse rijk, en nu een prachtige openluchtmarkt omringd door historische gebouwen met fresco's en sculpturen.
Terug op je fiets, maar nog steeds omringd door roze drijvende harten, ga je naar het centrale middeleeuwse Piazza dei Signori e Arche Scaligere, waar je prachtige gebouwen bewondert en deelneemt aan de levendige sfeer van het plein voordat je naar de rivier de Adige fietst.
Vanaf Brà Molinari heb je een geweldig uitzicht over de rivier en de heuvels van de stad en, nadat je voor de Duomo bent gestopt en de oude Romeinse boogbrug Ponte Pietra bent overgestoken, bereid je je benen voor: je laat je fietsen een tijdje staan om naar Castel te klimmen San Pietro door een panoramische trap. Vertrouw ons, u zult zeer beloond worden voor uw kleine moeite door de spectaculaire ruïnes van het Romeinse theater en door een adembenemend uitzicht over Verona.
Kruis terug over de rivier op de Scaliger-brug, een versterkte brug gebouwd in XIV eeuw en helaas vernietigd, samen met de Ponte Pietra, door de terugtrekkende Duitse troepen op 24 april 1945, nu getrouw herbouwd met originele materialen. Je eindigt je fietstocht door Verona met de prachtige Romaanse basiliek van San Zeno Maggiore, waar het meesterwerk van een prachtige Mantegna wordt afgeschermd.

I would totally recommend this bike tour throu the streets of Verona. Elisabetta our tour guide was just brilliant. She gave us loads of amazing history facts and showed us many hidden gems. You see so much more than on a walking tour. The bikes are great and very easy to ride. This was an absolute highlight during our time in Verona

It was a v v v hot day and we had considered cancelling the tour but are so glad we didn’t. Silvia took us on great routes, mostly in shade, was so knowledgeable about all the sights and areas we rode through and made the experience a lot of fun. Seeing more of Verona than we would have on foot in the heat actually made sense and with a super friendly guide and another lovely couple from the Netherlands made it a real pleasure. Wonderful x

This was a fun tour! Sylvia was very knowledgeable and took us to some places we probably wouldn't find on our own. She's friendly and engaging. The bikes are super easy to ride and the terrain is pretty flat. Great value! Give it a go, you won't regret it!
