Rijd over de brug naar Cam Kim Island en langs de schilderachtige rivieroever het prachtige landelijke landschap in. Bezoek traditionele ambachtelijke dorpen die honderden jaren teruggaan, waaronder timmerwerk, mattenweven en noedels maken. Ontmoet vriendelijke locals die hun ambachten zullen demonstreren en u uitnodigen om ze zelf te proberen. Geniet van een kopje authentieke Vietnamese koffie en ga vervolgens verder naar het Kokosbos voor een onvergetelijke mandbootervaring. Daarna kunt u ontspannen en genieten van een heerlijke lokale maaltijd in Hoi An voordat u terugkeert naar uw hotel. We rijden over de brug naar Cam Kim eiland en langs de rivier het prachtige platteland in. Eerste haltes is het dorp Kim Bong – een traditioneel timmerdorp op Cam Kim eiland – waar al sinds de 15e eeuw ambachtelijke werken worden gemaakt. Zigzag door het adembenemende landschap van rijstvelden en landbouwgrond en geniet van de verkoelende bries. Leer vervolgens van vriendelijke lokale families de kunst van het mattenweven, boeren en hoe je de perfecte Banh Dap rijstcrackers maakt (en eet). Het ontmoeten van lokale families is een must-do om de echte manier van leven in Vietnam te zien.
Nadat je rijstcrackers hebt gegeten, bezoek je een plaatselijk café om lokale dripkoffie te tanken en de kunst van het koffiebranden te leren.
Daarna gaan we naar de kust bij de Thu Bon riviermonding. Het is hoog en over de nieuwe brug met een spectaculair panoramisch uitzicht op Hoi An, die ons naar het water brengt kokospalm omzoomd Cam Thanh. * Leer peddelen op de vreemde en unieke Vietnamese bamboe mandboten. Verken de nu rustige kokospalm geflankeerde waterwegen van een vorige oorlog en hoor over de extreme omstandigheden die soldaten aan beide kanten hebben doorstaan.
We gaan proberen om “BMW” Water Buffalo te rijden in Vietnam en dan door naar een lokale lunch in een restaurant op een pittoreske locatie (seizoensgebonden).

John is an enthausatic and generous local tour guide. He tailored three exceptional country side tours for us. Involving local villages and farms as well as moutain scenery and My Son. John listened to our preferences and then delivered exciting tours by motor bike and car. We had a great time. Thankyou John. Highly recommended
This was a well organised tour seeing some authentic Vietnamese crafts that have been integral to local life for generations and sadly some of which will no longer be there in the future as some of the skilled village workers take-up retirement. This tour tends to be sold as a scooter/car based experience but John Lee was happy to modify to a bicycle tour format allowing some wonderful additions to the standard itinerary. Ultimately our tour was fascinating and lots of fun and because it was so good, for our next holiday to Hoi An, we will be asking John to organise a tour to other local craft villages showcasing different traditional skills using his "Tailor-Made Tours" service. In closing, John Lee Tours has been such a good find for us!
The day we went to the tour was a rainy day, but John customised the tour for us and entertained us through the day. He took us to the old cultural villages and let us try some activities including rice noodle making. Surprisingly, my husband loved fresh rice noodles! Basket boat was super fun even in the rain, and I loved the coffee from the coffee roaster - John remembered that we mentioned coffee when we spoken to him before booking. The tour was fantastic, seeing the local life in Hoi An and how all of the local products are made was amazing. I particularly loved that they let us try our hand at working the crafts that the locals were doing.

Great Experience with John! We went in October 2025 with family (2 kids of 5 and 8 years old) on two tours in the surroundings of Hoi An: first day fishing and coconut forest, second day cycling. The experiences are fun but the best is how John is good at connecting with kids and entertaining them. Everything feels very safe and spontaneous. Thanks John

Lanh was our tour guide & we had the very best tour we’ve had in Vietnam so far. We visited Hoi An old town on a walking tour which was very interesting. Went to the pottery village, woodworking, rice paper & noodle making, saw some silk worms & watched the ladies create beautiful pictures from silk thread. We also had a ride in a basket boat. Such a unique experience. Lanh took us to a lovely quiet restaurant for an authentic Vietnamese lunch which was very yummy. Overall it was an excellent tour & Lanh is a wonderful guide.

We had an amazing time and tour with John. He is extremely knowledgeable and provided us with real life experiences. We visited a country vegetable garden, a pottery making class, a noodle making class, a wood carving hands on experience, fishing boat ride and a sumptuous lunch.
