We rijden langs de Notre Dame Cathedral — de meest iconische kerk in Saigon — terwijl je Gids de geschiedenis en betekenis ervan introduceert. In de avond is het gebied prachtig verlicht en is het momenteel een populaire fotoplek onder jonge locals.
Onze tweede stop in District 10 biedt Chuối Nướng — gegrilde bakbanaan met romige kokosmelksaus, die zoete en hartige smaken combineert. Het wordt met trots erkend als een van 's werelds top 10 streetfoods. Ingrediënten : Rijpe bananen, kleefrijst, kokosmelk, tapioca, geroosterde sesamzaadjes.
Ho Thi Ky is de grootste groothandel bloemenmarkt, gelegen in District 10, Ho Chi Minhstad, die bloemen levert aan de stad en sommige provincies in het zuiden van Vietnam. Op deze markt proberen we Khmer-stijl gegrild rundvlees, Vietnamese pizza en Saigon-bier. We leren juichen als een Vietnamees Zou je ook ooit raden welke Bánh Mì locals elke dag eten? Ja, we laten je de authentieke zien (niet Huynh Hoa of een andere dure versie) na een bezoek aan deze markt.
Ontdek de geschiedenis en schoonheid van Ho Chi Minh-stad tijdens onze dagtour door het Thich Quang Duc Monument. Ontdek de verhalen achter dit iconische monument en geniet van het prachtige uitzicht op Saigon vanuit een uniek perspectief.
Na een spannende rit brengt onze eerste stop je naar een gezellig lokaal eetcafé in District 3, waar je kunt genieten van een kom Bún Bò Huế — een gedurfde en aromatische rundernoedelsoep die zich onderscheidt van de bekendere Phở die in Vietnam te vinden is. Deze Midden-Vietnamese specialiteit beschikt over een geurige bouillon gestoofd met citroengras, runderbotten, ananas en garnalenpasta, waardoor het een rijke, licht kruidige diepte heeft. Het wordt gegarneerd met krabworst, mals rundvleesborststuk, lente-uitjes en gesneden uien - een perfecte balans van hartige, kruidige en aromatische smaken die je smaakpapillen vanaf het allereerste slokje wakker zullen schudden.
Onze laatste stop is Che Mam Khanh Vy, Vietnamese zoete soep. De Eigenaar heeft 45 jaar ervaring met de verkoop van traditionele Che in Saigon. Het is gelegen onder oude appartement (afgezien van Chinatown) in wijk 10
Aan het einde van de foodtour genieten we van een korte schilderachtige rit over de Ba Son-brug naar Thu Thiem, waarna we teruglopen voor een panoramisch uitzicht op de skyline van District 1. Het is een ontspannen manier om Saigon's moderne kant en uitzicht op de rivier te bewonderen voordat de tour eindigt.

I booked a street food tour through Agoda, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The experience was fantastic, thanks to our amazing guides and drivers, Tom and Ryan. They went above and beyond to show us around, introduced us to the best local street food, and shared great recommendations throughout the tour. They were kind, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a wonderful experience. As a sweet surprise, they even gave my mom a beautiful flower, which truly made her day. Despite a booming mishap that was fully my fault, Son came to pick me up and delivered an amazing tour! He took me to some good and niche places which were personalised to me. The 3 hours flew by but it was worth the money! I highly recommend :)

This was one of the most fun experiences we had in Ho Chi Minh City! Riding on the back of motorbikes through different districts at night was exhilarating and gave us a real feel for the energy of the city. We stopped at several street food locations and tried a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes. Kay and Phouc were fantastic drivers and guides — friendly, knowledgeable, and great at explaining each dish and the local food culture. One of the highlights was riding across the Bridge while looking out over the river and city lights. It was beautiful and something we would never have experienced on our own. If you’re visiting HCMC, this tour is absolutely a must-do.

The food was exceptional — a perfect mix of classic Vietnamese dishes and local favourites we never would have found on our own. Every stop felt carefully chosen, not touristy, and each dish came with an explanation of its history, ingredients, and how locals really eat it. Linh’s passion for Vietnamese food and culture really shone through. What truly set this tour apart was Linh herself. She didn’t just take us from place to place — she shared stories about daily life in Saigon, answered every question with patience and insight, and tailored the experience to our tastes and pace.
