We ontmoeten elkaar en stellen ons voor aan de Markt, voordat we onze eerste Stops gaan verkennen.
We kijken van buiten naar de monumentale kathedraal.
We zullen zien wat er zo speciaal is aan deze plek en wat meer eten in de buurt hebben.
Direct na nog een leuk hapje en een verfrissing duiken we in de lokale cultuur en geschiedenis in dit schattige straatje.
We bewonderen het standbeeld van Ho Chi Min, leren meer over hem en nemen een kijkje aan de buitenkant van de commissie.
We maken een leuke wandeling over deze lange voetgangersstraat en proberen meer gerechten rondom. Zelfs onze Secret Dish!

Amazing tour with so many delicious dishes to try. Our guide Ken was great fun and showed us around and to many different and fantastic food locations. A good mix of sweet and savoury dishes. As always Secret Food Tours for the win! Loved it

Ken was the best the best tour guide. He was so easy to talk with and so knowledgeable. The food was delicious and we left so full. The best experience.
We were not able to participate in this tour due to poor communication with the company and a flight delay. The support from the company was not accommodating to us being late and the only option was to rebook for 100% the cost again. For 115 USD total, I am not willing to rebook and found the service to be terrible. I will not consider secret food tours again. They are over priced and not willing to help their customers.

The request to reschedule was received approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. By then, all arrangements for the tour had already been finalized. As you were the only guests booked for that experience, a dedicated local guide had been assigned and was prepared to begin. Even if the tour does not proceed, the guide’s full fee still needs to be honored, as their time has been reserved specifically for that booking. Because of this, last-minute changes or cancellations are not something we’re able to accommodate without a rebooking. This approach allows us to ensure fairness to our local guides, who rely on confirmed bookings and set aside their time accordingly. It may also help to know that many of our guests highlight the flexibility and support they receive when changes are communicated with more notice, which allows our team to explore alternative options whenever possible. We understand that travel delays can be frustrating, and while this situation could not be adjusted given the short notice, the structure in place is designed to keep things fair and sustainable for everyone involved. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and hope this clarifies our side. If your travels bring you to another city where we operate, we would be glad to welcome you on one of our tours again.
My partner and I have done Secret Food Tours in multiple cities around the world—including Hanoi—and they have consistently been one of our favorite travel experiences. It’s always our first go-to and something we enthusiastically recommend to others. Unfortunately, our tour in Ho Chi Minh City was by far the worst experience we’ve had, and to say it was disappointing would be an understatement—especially in contrast to how exceptional our experience in Hanoi was. We understand that our guide, Linh, may have been inexperienced, but the experience felt as though we didn’t have a guide at all. There was little to no information shared about the food, no engaging commentary, and not even basic or scripted talking points. The tour felt disorganized, awkward, and lacked any sense of direction or purpose. In our past experiences, one of the standout elements of Secret Food Tours has always been the strong relationship between guides and local vendors. There’s typically a sense of familiarity, warmth, and mutual respect that adds to the authenticity of the experience. Unfortunately, that was completely missing on this Ho Chi Minh City tour. Linh often seemed unsure of where to go, and at several stops, the establishments appeared confused about our presence or unaware that a tour was even taking place. This created an uncomfortable and disjointed experience, and further reinforced the impression that the tour lacked organization and proper coordination. What was most concerning, however, was that when asked, Linh openly stated that she would not personally recommend the food or the establishments we were visiting. This was extremely off-putting and undermined the entire premise of the tour. It left us questioning the quality, authenticity, and curation of the experience. One of the reasons we’ve trusted Secret Food Tours in the past—particularly in cities like Hanoi—is because of the passion, knowledge, and pride their guides bring to showcasing local cuisine. Unfortunately, this Ho Chi Minh City tour lacked all of those elements and did not reflect the standard we’ve come to expect from your company. Given our long-standing positive experiences with your tours in other cities, this was particularly disappointing. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it falls well below the standard your brand represents.

It was lunar new year, and we were pleased the tour went ahead without supplement. However, we only had 6 tastings, the first 3 were nice (although chocolate and a cookie as number 2 was a strange order for us) . The remaining 3 included a cup of coffee, and if this was the tastiest Saigon has to offer, it was not delicious. A lot of walking with no commentary between venues. We’ve done quite a few tasting tours, this was probably the worst sadly.

I can highly recommend this tour. You will try a lot of authentic and delicious Vietnamese food away from the touristic places. My guide Leo was friendly, motivated and committed. Also we had a lot of fun. So if you like decent food and want to learn about culture this is a very good choice.
