Herzegovina Tour vanuit Sarajevo - Dagtocht
Beschrijving
Tijdens deze tour bezoekt u enkele van de mooiste steden in Herzegovina, zoals de watervallen Jablanica, Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj en Kravice. De toegang is gratis voor alle toeristische attracties, behalve de toegang tot de Kravice-watervallen, die tijdens het seizoen 10 EUR per persoon kost. Eerst gaan we naar Jablanica, een stad in het kanton Herzegovina-Neretva. Daarna bezoeken we Mostar, dat bekend staat om zijn iconische oude brug, een gereconstrueerde middeleeuwse boogbrug over de rivier de Neretva. Daarna gaan we naar Blagaj, waar het wordt aanbevolen om een lunchpauze te nemen in een restaurant, naast de bron van de rivier de Buna. Verder gaan we naar Počitelj, een historische middeleeuwse stad uit de 14e eeuw. Onze laatste stop is bij de Kravice-watervallen, een favoriete plek van veel mensen om te ontspannen en tot rust te komen tijdens de hete zomerdagen. Je kunt hier zelfs zwemmen!

De historische stad Mostar, verspreid over een diepe vallei van de rivier de Neretva, ontwikkelde zich in de 15e en 16e eeuw als een Ottomaanse grensstad en tijdens de Oostenrijks-Hongaarse periode in de 19e en 20e eeuw. Mostar is al lang bekend om zijn oude Turkse huizen en de oude brug, Stari Most, waarna het wordt genoemd. In de jaren 1990 conflict, echter, het grootste deel van de historische stad en de oude brug, ontworpen door de beroemde architect Sinan, werd vernietigd. De oude brug is onlangs herbouwd en veel van de gebouwen in de oude stad zijn gerestaureerd of herbouwd met de bijdrage van een internationaal wetenschappelijk comité dat is opgericht door de UNESCO.

Blagaj Tekija is een Derwisjklooster buiten Mostar, Bosnië, dat bijna 600 jaar oud is. Gelegen aan de voet van een klif, naast de bron van de rivier de Buna, is het een unieke en pittoreske reeks gebouwen die er in persoon nog beter uitziet dan op foto's.
Men gaat ervan uit dat de versterkte stad samen met de bijbehorende nederzettingen werden gebouwd door Bosnië's koning Stjepan Tvrtko I in 1383. De ommuurde stad Počitelj evolueerde in de periode van de 16e tot de 18e eeuw. In de architectuur zijn de met stenen gebouwde delen van de stad een versterkt complex, waarin twee evolutiefasen evident zijn: middeleeuws en Ottomaans.
De Kravice-watervallen, oorspronkelijk bekend als de Kravica-watervallen, zijn een van de mooiste natuurlijke locaties in de Herzegovische regio Bosnië en Herzegovina. Gelegen aan de rivier de Trebižat, stroomt het van een bijzonder grote tufsteenkalkafzetting en naar het meer daaronder. Het hele gebied wordt beschermd door de deelstaatregering, maar het staat open voor het lokale publiek en toeristen voor bezoeken en zelfs zwemmen.

My husband and I absolutely loved the day trip to Herzogovina. We visited some really stunning places and learned a lot about the history from our knowledgeable guide Mido. I would certainly recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed the trip from Sarajevo to Herzegovina. We went in mid of December where temperature in Sarajevo was -1 and we could see the temperature going up as we approached Herzegovina. Our guide was Vekas. We, including kids, liked him a lot. Vekas is very friendly, quietly spoken, and a very gentle person. He was more of a friend with us than a guide. We went to Jablanica, Kravic, Pocitelj, Mostar, and Blagaj. We had a wonderful lunch in Blagaj. It is shame that night falls fast in December, otherwise we could have seen more of the beautiful Herzegovina.

Amazing tour! Our guide Vekas was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and full of recommendations. He picked us up at our apartment, drove us out to the beautiful countryside, and stopped at five beautiful locations. We never would’ve seen as much for so little money without this tour. We even stopped at an amazing restaurant for lunch. This tour showed us so much of the country- there’s so much more to see than just Sarajevo. I highly recommend this tour. Don’t miss it.

We took a tour with Vekas from Torus Tours, stopping at Jablanica, Kravice, Blagaj and Mostar. Communication was great and Vekas text me the day before to confirm details of pickup, also letting us choose the music in the car! He was very friendly, chatty and informative, telling us the history of each place, and also gave us some time to explore on our own.
