Oodi is de prachtige centrale bibliotheek van Helsinki, geopend in 2018. Oodi staat bekend om zijn opvallende moderne architectuur en is meer dan alleen een bibliotheek. Het is een levendige gemeenschapshub met boeken, creatieve ruimtes, een bioscoop, een café en een panoramisch uitzicht op de stad. Oodi ligt tegenover het parlementsgebouw en is al snel een symbool geworden van Finse innovatie, leren en open cultuur.
Het Olympisch Stadion van Helsinki, geopend in 1938 en ontworpen door Yrjö Lindegren en Toivo Jäntti, is het grootste stadion van Finland en een mijlpaal van functionalistische architectuur. Het was beroemd als gastheer van de Olympische Zomerspelen 1952 en blijft een belangrijke locatie voor sport en evenementen na de laatste renovatie in 2020.
Het Sibeliusmonument is een beroemd beeldhouwwerk in Helsinki, Finland, ter ere van componist Jean Sibelius. Het werd in 1967 ontworpen door Eila Hiltunen en beschikt over meer dan 600 stalen pijpen en een buste van Sibelius, die zijn muziek en erfenis symboliseert.
Uspenski Cathedral is de opvallende rood-bakstenen Oosters-orthodoxe kerk van Helsinki, bekend om zijn gouden koepels en uitzicht op de heuveltop. Het is de grootste orthodoxe kathedraal van West-Europa.
De Kathedraal van Helsinki is een neoklassieke witte kerk met groene koepels, met uitzicht op het Senaatsplein. Voltooid in 1852, het is een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van de stad.
Kauppatori, of Marktplein, is de levendige markt aan het water van Helsinki, beroemd om zijn lokale gerechten, ambachten en levendige sfeer aan zee. We brengen hier ongeveer 30 minuten door, zodat u tijd heeft om te genieten van de Finse keuken of een lichte verfrissing terwijl u geniet van de unieke charme van de markt.
Suomenlinna is een historisch 18e-eeuws zeefort en UNESCO-werelderfgoed net voor de kust van Helsinki. Tijdens ons bezoek verkennen we samen ongeveer twee uur de schilderachtige paden en fascinerende geschiedenis.
Kauppatori betekent “Marktplein” in het Fins. Nadat we met de veerboot vanuit Suomenlinna zijn teruggekeerd, eindigt onze tour hier. Je hebt vrije tijd om de charmante kraampjes te verkennen, lokale lekkernijen te proeven en de rest van de dag in je eigen tempo te genieten van de levendige sfeer. De tour is bedoeld om rond 16.00 uur te eindigen.

Wonderful time on the Helsinki tour. The guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly, and brought the city’s history to life with lots of interesting stories and information. The driver was also very friendly and made the journey comfortable and enjoyable. It was a great way to see Helsinki, learn about its fascinating history and get a feel for the city. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Helsinki!
The Helsinki and Suomenlinna sightseeing tour is a fantastic way to see the city's top landmarks and explore a historic sea fortress.
I recently joined a guided tour of Helsinki and found it to be a genuinely enjoyable experience. The pace was comfortable, and our guide was knowledgeable without overwhelming us with too many facts. We visited several key spots, including the market square, the cathedral, and a few quieter neighbourhoods that gave a nice sense of local life. The weather was a bit on the chilly side, but that’s to be expected here, and it didn’t take away from the charm of the city. I particularly liked the mix of modern architecture and older buildings, which gave the place a unique character. It wasn’t the most spectacular tour I’ve ever done, but it was well-organised, friendly, and worth the time if you want a good introduction to Helsinki without feeling rushed.

We had a fantastic experience exploring Helsinki with our incredible guide Sergio! He was so knowledgeable and delightful. We learned so much about Finland and Helsinki as we took in the beautiful sights. We stopped at the local outdoor market and Sergio had delicious berries for us to taste then we did some shopping and tried some local delicacies for lunch. Sergio went above and beyond by making sure we all made it back to our hotels after the tour. I highly recommend this tour. 10 out of 10!

We pair of senior gal relatives felt that this tour was wonderful. We were picked up from our hotel promptly and joined only 3 others in the van. Sergio greeted us warmly, and was a consummate host throughout the tour. He accommodated my mobility restrictions considerately. He was knowledgeable and unhurried. We enjoyed the local Finnish driver, too, who helped with the commentary. This tour was first rate!

Did the Helsinki and Suomenlinna City Highlights tour and, to be fair, it was absolutely brilliant. Pick-up and drop-off were spot on, communication was great, and everything was very well organised. The tour guide was lovely, the driver was a gent, and there was great craic and good vibes throughout the whole trip. Really enjoyed seeing Helsinki and heading over to Suomenlinna. Only thing to keep in mind is that there’s a good bit of walking around the fortress, as cars can’t get in, so you’d want to have decent comfortable shoes on — otherwise you’ll know all about it afterwards! 😂 All in all, a great day out. Would definitely recommend it. No complaints at all.
I had a wonderful time on the Helsinki city tour. From the very beginning, the communication was clear, friendly, and well organized. The hotel pick-up and drop-off were convenient and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. It was a beautiful day and a great way to discover Helsinki, with plenty of interesting places and sights along the way. I especially enjoyed visiting the fortress, although it is quite large, so I would recommend being prepared for a fair amount of walking. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Helsinki in a comfortable and enjoyable way.
