Our day was touch and go due to the weather however a small window was found and we made the most of it. What an unforgettable experience on the glacier. I last visited here 40 years ago and nowadays doing a tour like this is the only way to get near fox glacier. It is well worth it too. A day my family and I won’t forget. Ryan was an excellent guide who made me (who was a bit nervous) feel very calm. The entire operation functions like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend doing this. You’ll remember it forever.

Great experience! The helicopter ride was short but beautiful and the staff has the whole thing down like a well-oiled machine. The glacier was absolutely stunning and our guide Jake cut steps for us and came up with the most interesting yet safe route for our trip. He explained that the route can change daily based on new features and ice safety. He was personable, knowledgeable, and very experienced and made it an unforgettable experience. We had a beautiful clear day after a night of heavy rain and felt very fortunate about the great visibility. We all got pretty warm after the climbing on the ice and shed layers

It was a very exciting experience, and our guide Will is very friendly, knowledgeable, made it a very fun trip for us.

I booked the Fox Glacier Heli Hike on short notice because of the excellent reviews and because I really wanted to experience the glacier. While the operation is well organized, I underestimated how heavily commercialized the whole experience is. The constant helicopter traffic and the large number of visitors take away much of the natural atmosphere. Our group was relatively large, and many participants ignored the guides’ instructions, including the assigned helicopter seating for both the outbound and return flights. Unfortunately, the guide had little control over the group, which made the experience less enjoyable. The helicopter flight itself lasted less than a minute, making the overall experience feel very expensive for what was actually provided. When I tried to discuss my concerns afterwards, the staff were polite but clearly not interested in addressing them. Overall, this was not worth the high price for me, and I would not book it again.

This experience has to be one of the best. It’s more than amazing. The guides are experienced and offer a wealth of knowledge. I did the heli hike 2.5 hrs and it was more than worth it. The helicopter ride alone is worth it. Moderate fitness is required. If you are unsure about this trip don’t be and book it you won’t regret it.

The experience was perfect! The helicopter flight to the glacier was incredible, and the views were spectacular. Our guide, Charlie, was great. He was very friendly, helpful, and made the glacier hike really enjoyable. He even opened a path through the ice for us, which made the experience even more special. The whole team was also very kind and professional from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Our instructor Flo was absolutely super in looking after us and taking us through the glacier climb.

The Heli-Hike on fox glacier was amazing, what an experience!! Tyana and Zeki were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guides!! All gear on the tour is provided: over trousers, jacket, gloves, socks, rucksack, boots and crampons. The whole morning was very well organised. Highly recommend to everyone!!

The Fox Glacier helicopter and hike was phenomenal. Being able to be on the glacier, learn about its changing features and how it came to be over the years was fascinating. The Fox Glacier crew fit you with all your kit so you are prepared, I'd recommend thermals for added comfort. The helicopter ride and safety procedures were straightforward and clear. Our guide Sam is a terrific guide and he made sure we got to have a variety of experiences on the glacier. Including watching him scale an ice wall in seconds and answer all our questions and in an English accent ! A dear friend of mine said - when you go to NZ, splurge and do a glacier hike, I did and now I can say - when you go to NZ if you can - splurge and do a glacier experience - it is incredible.

This was actually such an incredible and unique experience and worth every penny, would 100% recommend
