De enige overgebleven stadspoort van het oude Hanoi, O Quan Chuong, ook bekend als de Oude Stadspoort of Oude Oostpoort, is vernoemd naar een legerchef ter nagedachtenis aan hem en andere Nguyen-soldaten die tegen de Fransen vochten. Het heeft de typische architectuur van een uitkijktoren uit de Nguyen-dynastie en fungeert tot op de dag van vandaag als bewijs van de strijd.
We bezoeken 6 tot 8 verschillende straatvoedselverkopers in de oude wijk om verschillende Hanoiaanse straatvoedselproducten te proberen in kleine restaurants, sommige binnen en sommige buiten Onze tour was inclusief het drinken van Hanoi Egg Coffee
Hanoi heeft het Old Quarter-gebied met 36 straten, elke straat is vaak nauw verbonden met een handwerk. Daarom, ook al is het de eerste keer dat mensen daar komen, herkennen ze gemakkelijk dat handwerk, ook al horen ze alleen het geluid in die straat, ze raden het ook. Volgens de letterlijke betekenis betekent ‘Hang’ een winkel of winkel en ‘Bac’ is zilver (een soort metaal dat wordt gebruikt om geld te munten en sieraden te maken). We zullen hier een van de beste desserts in Hanoi proberen en het einde van de geweldige streetfood-tour in Hang Bac Str.

We had a fantastic tour guide Tina who took us to taste 8 different dishes. A great variety of tastings, going to different local places we would never have tried on our own! She was very knowledgeable, spoke great English and was super happy to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this tour!
We had a really great time with Elna as our tour guide. She showed us around and took us to a variety of establishments where we experienced unique vietnamese street foods. She also gave us an insight on the history of the foods we ate. Overall, a really great experience. Highly recommended tour for those new to Hanoi.
Elena was incredible. Took us to so many amazing local spots and taught us about the culture and the food. Everything was delicious. 10/10 would recommend to everyone visiting Hanoi.

A thoroughly enjoyable introduction to Hanoi's staple culinary highlights, which included fish- mushroom rice pancakes, minced sandworm steaks - actually very tasty!, Banh Ran (Vietnamese doughnut), Bun Cha (bbq pork noodle), egg coffee - created in Hanoi, banh my, sticky rice and coconut ice-cream, Hanio beer on train street, and an introductory 'happy juice' (apricot liqueur). The tour was brought alive by the ever enthusiastic guide, Apple. Highly recommend.
We had our Tour with Elena and from start to finish it was absolutely awesome. She was super sweet, a great guide around the old quarter and super knowledgeable! The guide from our hotel all around the old quarter was incredibly smooth and the stops and food was very curated. The food was unbelievable and being able to have Elena guide us to these gems and explain the food as well as how to eat was invaluable. Great value, great experience .
Tina was an amazing guide- so friendly and knowledgeable. We had several delicious foods we never would have known to try otherwise. And Tina made the tour so fun, teaching us phrases in Vietnamese and about the local culture. The perfect activity for your first day in Hanoi: 10/10 recommend!
