Dit is je grote ingang naar de oude stad. Een monumentale poort met drie bogen gebouwd om het bezoek van de Romeinse keizer Hadrianus in 129 na Christus te herdenken.
Een echt uniek en iconisch kenmerk van Jerash. Dit enorme ovaalvormige openbare plein is omgeven door een colonnade van Ionische zuilen. Het was het sociale en commerciële hart van de stad.
Dit is de belangrijkste straat met colonnades die door de stad loopt. U kunt wandelen langs de originele straatstenen, die nog steeds de sporen vertonen die door oude wagenwielen werden gedragen.
Een prachtig bewaard gebleven Romeins theater met een ongelooflijke akoestiek. Met een capaciteit van meer dan 3000 zitplaatsen wordt het vandaag de dag nog steeds gebruikt voor optredens en is het een hoogtepunt van het jaarlijkse Jerash Festival.
Gelegen op een heuveltop met uitzicht op het Oval Plaza en het Zuidtheater, was de Tempel van Zeus een belangrijk religieus centrum. Hoewel een groot deel ervan in puin ligt, zijn de omvang en het indrukwekkende uitzicht over de stad indrukwekkend.

I had Khalid Najjar as my driver for this booking. He shared a lot about the history of Amman and had great recommendations for places to see in the area I was staying in. He organized the pick up, drop off, entry ticket (included in package), and a tour guide smoothly. The tour of Jerash itself was about an hour and a half and my guide talked about the history of the site, ongoing archeological efforts, and about the surrounding city. Would definitely recommend going!
