Prachtig klein Zuidzee-eiland is een van de schatten van de Mamanuca-eilanden. Kristalhelder water, koraalriffen en duizenden kleurrijke tropische vissen omringen het kleine eiland. De cruise van een halve dag naar het Zuidzee-eiland is perfect voor degenen die niet veel tijd over hebben, maar toch willen proeven van het 'echte Fiji'. Deze fantastische cruise betekent dat je een van Fiji's schattigste Mamanuca-eilanden kunt verkennen en 'eilandtijd' kunt verkennen. Omdat het eiland slechts 30 minuten van Denarau ligt, heb je tijd om veel van de activiteiten op het eiland te doen en de vriendelijke Fiji aan wal te ontmoeten.

Een halve dag naar South Sea Island is een makkelijke rit van 30 minuten met de veerboot. Perfect voor wie niet veel tijd heeft, maar toch wil proeven van het 'echte Fiji'. Deze fantastische cruise betekent dat je een van Fiji's schattigste Mamanuca-eilanden kunt verkennen en in 'eilandtijd' kunt komen. Het eiland is de rest van de dag van jou totdat de catamaran rond 17.30 uur arriveert om je terug te brengen naar Port Denarau. Transfers terug naar geselecteerde hotels/resorts in Nadi, Denarau en Wailoaloa zijn inbegrepen indien vooraf geboekt.
Voor deze tour wordt een gratis bustransfer aangeboden vanaf geselecteerde hotels/reservaten Nadi, Denarau en het Wailoaloa-gebied. Bussen met airconditioning halen je ongeveer 75 minuten voor de vertrektijd op bij de aangewezen ophaalpunten. U dient dan in te checken bij de incheckbalie van South Sea Cruises. Houd uw vouchernummers of e-bevestiging bij de hand als u aan de balie staat. Ons vriendelijke personeel van South Sea Cruises met een grote Bula-glimlach zal u dan uw instapkaart voor de catamaran bezorgen. Onze moderne catamarans hebben lounges met airconditioning, uitkijkdekken buiten en bars met volledige vergunning, wat betekent dat u zich op vakantie voelt, zelfs op weg naar uw ontsnapping op het eiland.

De bus pick-ups beginnen ongeveer 75 minuten voordat het schip vertrekt uit Port Denarau. Next time I would buy the ticket locally as it’s much cheaper, the folks on the island are wonderful, although don’t expect much from the BBQ buffet lol, meat was cold but otherwise it filled our tummy. Only Fiji beer included and don’t even try the “Flagon” wine 🤢 Unfortunately the day we went there was no sun and totally overcast with constant 20-30 klm wind that made it unbearable and they cancelled all water sports as it was to dangerous, the day was cut short cause of the conditions and we were taken back early and subsequently had no booked transport on the mainland and had to catch a taxi back to the Resort. You can’t beat bad luck with weather conditions and not their fault obviously but it was the worse $340 Aus I’ve ever spent… and my poor wife froze ..

Half day South Sea Island trip with lunch & drinks included, have done this many times before & always great!! Weather was perfect & sea was calm, great for swimming & snorkelling.

Didn't like it. Felt cheap and rationed. Drinks included but dont dare ask for a drink for you and your spouse. Only allowed 30 minutes window for lunch. The feel just not welcoming compared to rest of the activities we experienced. I wont recommend this one.

For clarity, the South Sea Island Half Day Cruise is designed as a structured afternoon island experience, operating from approximately 12:15pm to 6:00pm. Guests are transferred by high-speed catamaran from Port Denarau, followed by a short tender transfer to the island, offering a full afternoon to enjoy the natural surroundings and activities. The experience is inclusive of a BBQ buffet lunch served on your arrival to the island, along with complimentary local beer, house wine, soft drinks, and water available throughout your time on the island. During your visit, guests also have access to a range of included activities such as snorkelling equipment, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, the saltwater swimming pool, and guided cultural entertainment including a Fijian ‘meke’ performance during lunch (except Sundays). We do note your comments regarding the drinks service and lunch timing. While service is structured to ensure all guests are catered for within the allocated half-day schedule, we understand that perceptions of timing and hospitality can vary, and we sincerely regret if this affected your overall enjoyment. Everything was well organized! The food at lunch was delicious and having free cocktails was a bonus! Remember to bring your own towels and swim shoes are highly recommended, especially with all the rocks and coral.

Great day, food was good , the staff and the dancers were lovely and very friendly. The only downside was not enough sun lounges on the beach .

This island was only a 30 min boat ride from the port. It was a nice to relax on the gorgeous beach, they offer many activities such as glass bottom boat tour, snorkeling tour, and diving. The included lunch was good but it’s only offered for 30 mins so if you’re hungry after that you’re kind of out of luck.

The beach is a little rough. Not really a white sandy beach. Mostly crushed shells and pieces of coral.

South Sea Island does have areas of natural coral and crushed shells along the shoreline naturally it is a coral cay island, which is quite typical for many reef islands in Fiji. I had a wonderful time! If I knew then what I know now, I would have done the whole day. It was very easy check-in, transport to island, and the instructions were well-explained as soon as we got to the island. Then you're left to your own devices for the afternoon. Lunch is first, drinks available at all times, a couple of opportunities for snorkel or glass-bottom boat, and then you can just relax on the beach, snorkel on your own, relax relax relax. Groups are not too big and you never feel crowded on the island, but still have enough other people to chat with. Also, lunch was delicious and they made a special entre set aside because I told them I was vegetarian.
