Bezoek de prachtige stad Meren van Udaipur in al zijn pracht. Met ingewikkeld gesneden tempels en paleizen, zal de stad Udaipur u verleiden om opnieuw te bezoeken. Als u van het verkennen van religieuze culturen houdt, is dit de perfecte vakantie voor u. - Bezoek Eklingji, een klein dorp met een aantal oude tempels gelegen in een religieus complex in de noordelijke regio van Mewar, waar 108 tempels zijn gebeiteld uit zandsteen en marmer, gebouwd in 734 AD. - Nagda is een klein stadje in de Indiase deelstaat Rajasthan. Nagda ligt naast Bagela Lake op een afstand van 23 km in het noordwesten van Udaipur op weg naar Nathdwara. Nagda bestaat uit vele kleine en grote tempels, maar de hoofdattractie wordt gewonnen door de 'Sahastra Bahu'-tempels.

Uw tour begint met een ochtend pick-up van uw hotel in Udaipur, gevolgd door een rit naar Eklingji, gelegen op ongeveer 20 km van de stad.
Bij aankomst in de Eklingji-tempel kunt u een paar uur het beroemde tempelcomplex verkennen. De Eklingji-tempel is een hindoeïstisch tempelcomplex in Kailashpuri, Udaipur, Rajasthan, en is de Kula Devata van de Mewar-dynastie. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd door Bappa Rawal in de 8e eeuw, werd de tempel verwoest door invasies van het Delhi Sultanaat. In de 14e eeuw renoveerde Hamir Singh de tempel en installeerde het eerste nog bestaande beeld. Rana Kumbha herbouwde het in de 15e eeuw en voegde er een Vishnu-tempel aan toe. Na een aanval van Ghiyath Shah in de late 15e eeuw, reconstrueerde Rana Raimal de tempel met behulp van het losgeld van Ghiyath Shah. Aanvankelijk behorend tot de Pashupata sekte, kwam het later onder controle van de Nath sekte in de 16e eeuw. Na de voltooiing van uw Eklingji-tour gaat u door naar Nagda.
De Sahasra Bahu-tempels (ook wel Sasbahu-tempels genoemd) in Nagda, Rajasthan, zijn een paar 10e-eeuwse hindoetempels gewijd aan Virabhadra. Ze delen een platform, met de grotere tempel omringd door tien hulpheiligdommen en de kleinere door vier. De tempels tonen Māru-Gurjara architectuur, met een heiligdom, mandapa, open veranda en bakstenen shikharas. Terwijl een groot deel van de buitenkant is gewoon, de interieurs en veranda's zijn rijkelijk gesneden. De kleinere tempel heeft een gerestaureerde shikhara, terwijl de grotere resten afgekapt zijn. De tempels staan plaatselijk bekend als Sas Bahu, een corruptie van Sahasra-Bahu (wat "Een met duizend armen" betekent, een vorm van Vishnu). Nagda was ooit een belangrijke stad van Mewar, mogelijk een hoofdstad. In 1226 verwoestte Iltutmish Nagda. Vlakbij ligt de Adbhutji Shanthinath Jain Tirth of Nagahyuda Jain Mandir, een oud Jain centrum. De tempels zijn opgenomen als erfgoed monumenten door de Archeologische Dienst van India.

Beautiful way to spend half a day visiting some historic temples and learn about the history of these beautiful places. In some of the temples there were hardly any people so you get to appreciate it more, unlike some of the crowded attractions in the city. Some great views as the temple complexes are up a mountain. Very informative guide who is also the driver. If you have a few hours I. Udaipur and don't know what to do, would highly recommend this.

Salim was an excellent tour guide and considerate and safe driver. He took me to numerous sites in the beautiful countryside north of Udiapur. Places which would have been difficult to visit on public transport. Our driver was SALIM. He did an excellent job of communicating the night before and was on time to pick us up and took us to all the places that we were scheduled to go and showed us a few extra things as well. We enjoyed talking with him and his English was very good. Very smooth and easy experience.

The tour with Salim is a fantastic way to spend your time in Udaipur. Salim took us to magical spots off the beaten path. I highly recommend visiting these two temples. Mr. Sajid was a kind and helpful driver, giving some historical information along the way. He even took us to a few other nice places that were well worth visiting and weren’t even part of the tour.

I took this tour a few days ago and it was wonderful. I recommend the took took just for the fun scenery, but it’s a lot of highway driving so the car would also be a great option. We visited several temples, many of which had no tourist and were wide open to explore and take pictures absolutely beautiful highly recommend.

Salim was an excellent tour guide, he took me via the backroads through a picturesque farming village to both temples. A true taste of India and a stunning tour that should not be missed. I felt safe and was treated to an extra by way of a beautiful garden with all the history carefully explained by Salim. Well worth it!
