Tijdens deze 4 uur durende voedselverkenningstour volg je een lokale food Expert die vloeiend Engels spreekt, die door de straten en steegjes van Chengdu weeft. Terwijl u langs wandelt, proeft u authentieke snacks terwijl u zich onderdompelt in de diepgaande eetcultuur van de stad. Als wereldberoemde culinaire hoofdstad reikt Chengdu's charme verder dan de eettafel - het ligt in de levendige, levendige sfeer van de straten. We nemen je mee in de oude straatjes die geliefd zijn bij de lokale bevolking, en proeven 7 tot 8 verschillende soorten authentieke snacks en speciale gerechten – van knapperig aan de buitenkant, zacht aan de binnenkant eierbladerdeegpannenkoeken tot de pittige en hartige Dan Dan-noedels en sissende houtskoolgegrilde spiesjes... elke hap is puur Chengdu-smaak. Onderweg neem je een korte pauze bij een eeuwenoud theehuis, waarbij je het langzame tempo van het leven ervaart waar de Chengdu-bewoners van genieten. Dit is niet alleen een food tour; het is een meeslepende reis in de Chengdu manier van leven.

Sichuan Hotpot heeft een geschiedenis van minstens 1700 jaar. Tegenwoordig zijn Sichuan Hotpots in categorie uitgebreid met de "Rode Pot" (kruidige hotpotsmaak met chilipepers en Sichuan peperkorrels), de "Witte Pot" (niet-kruidige hotpotsmaak met bouillon) en 'Dubbele Pot' (inclusief de eerste twee). Met de hulp van je gids kook je zowel de pittige als de niet-pittige pot en leer je gerechten snijden en zetten met decoraties, die worden begeleid door een professionele chef-kok. Deze ervaring zal ook een zeer uniek lokaal marktbezoek hebben, u zult proberen de verschillende voedingsmiddelen in deze prachtige stad te leren en te proeven.

I enjoyed a fantastic private tour with Jerry in Chengdu to explore a local residential neighborhood, visit a dry/wet market, and enjoy street eats at several places at a night market before capping the evening off with a hot pot dinner. Everything went very smoothly, from meeting right outside the subway station to being dropped off right at a subway stop for a ride back. Jerry's passion for Chengdu and China shined through, and he patiently answering all of my questions about modern life. Be ready to eat and sample many different kinds of foods - Jerry was very helpful catering our orders as although I can eat quite spicy, the spice build-up became a bit too much for me as the night went on!

Our family really enjoyed the tour as it gave us a glimpse into local life. Interesting sights around the markets. Our guide Jerry was super nice and easy going. Knowledgeable and very helpful with food allergies/preferences. We enjoyed the food we tried and the restaurant chosen was delicious.

A wonderful experience with a very nice guide. A guided tour of a local market with an explanation of the vegetables and meats sold. Then a cooking class discovers everyday Sishuan specialties m. Thanks again for the beer offered ❤️

Relaxed and laid back tour visiting a local market with our awesome guides Lance and Litchi, letting them introduce and explain the vegetables, fruit, meat and spices that are used in Sichuan cuisine. Enjoying Chengdu snacks along the way. The highlight of the tour was a cooking workshop where we prepared delicious food under supervision of an experienced auntie and had a feist afterwards including some beers and nice conversation in a private setting. A truly fun and special experience.

This tour was really fun. It gave a very good impression of everyday chinese life and of course the food - it was great to taste the original Chinese street food. And at the end - the hotpot. Jerry was a fantastic and perfect guide for this tour. I enjoyed it so much.

We had a fun experience with Lance. We first hit the market where he gave us some insight on local products and gave us a glimpse into daily life of Chengdu people. After the stroll we had some tea and started preparing our hot pot with a professional chef. Very knowledgable and patiently she explained us the key points of a good hot pot soup base. After cooking we were able to enjoy our meal with beer and good company. Thx for everything.
