Nadat je bent opgehaald bij je hotel, bezoek je het koloniale centrum van 's werelds kleinste hoofdstad', Victoria. Hoogtepunten om te bezoeken zijn de gerechtsgebouwen, het postkantoor, de klokkentoren [Twin of the Clock Tower buiten het Victoria Station van Londen]. Een wandeling over Albert Street leidt naar het centrum van de stad, de kleurrijke markt waar kraampjes met verse vis, tropisch fruit en groenten, kruiden en specerijen in een overvloed aan geuren worden getoond. Opgericht in 1901 door een Mauritiaanse landbouwingenieur, Rivalz Dupont, is de 15-hectare grote tuin een van de oudste nationale monumenten van de Seychellen en een levend groen erfgoed dat een rustig, groen toevluchtsoord biedt op 20 minuten lopen van het drukke stadscentrum. De tuin heeft zich ontwikkeld tot een van de belangrijkste toeristische attracties van Victoria. De tuin opent om 7.30 uur en sluit om 17.00 uur.
De Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke-markt is een embleem van de Seychellen. Dit nationale monument werd gebouwd in 1840 in een prachtige vroeg Victoriaanse stijl en begin 1999 gerenoveerd. De markt is de belangrijkste markt in de hoofdstad van Victoria. Het is de beste plaats om de meest verse groenten, fruit, vis en vlees te kopen.

Our driver was very nice, but I would not consider this a tour. He really didn't have many details to offer us on what we were seeing. The best part of the tour was the Botanical Gardens, which are fabulous. If we were to go again, we would take the hotel's bus and just stop at certain places on our own.
We visited Victoria early September and were impressed with the cleanliness and friendlt locals who were helpful answering typical tourist queries. Disaapointing theta the Hindu Temple was closed but enjoyed brwising the local fresh fish and vegetable anf fruit market and bought fruits which reminded of the happy childhood spent in Tanzania. On way to Victoria we stopped over at the spectacular Eden Island such a nice environment. We were at Kempinsky and John over there arranged the transport with a very friendly knowledgeable fluent speaking local guide . A must visit place.

Very nice trip. The driver was very polite, punctual and helpful. He showed us everything that was listed and stopped at some additional spots for pictures. Gave us enough time to explore Mahe and Victoria on our own, take photos and shop for souvenirs and local delicacies. We drove along both East and west coast so we got to enjoy the view both on our way to and back from Victoria to our Chalet in Mahe... Was totally worth it!
Excursion booked through AIDA and lucky: Local, German-speaking travel companion showed us the "clear" highlights of Victoria as well as in the north of the island one of perhaps the most beautiful beaches in the world. Beautiful landscapes - as if taken from a photo wallpaper. The Seychelles (especially La Digue) have moved up high in my personal list of the most beautiful holiday homes.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed doing a half day tour of Mahe island with Nils from Cocotier tours. He is very professional and the sites are excellent
