It’s an expensive trip and I dont know what you pay for when the transport is not even included and you follow a signed-path for 2hours. You can manage on your own. The park is easily accesible via public transport and easy to navigate through too. Otherwise, the landscape is beautiful!
The tour guide is very friendly & knowledgeable. He showed us different kinds of edible & poison fungus. This national park is huge & will need 3 full days to complete. I wish he will offer a 3 full days trip in the future.
We had a fabulous time hiking through the park. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area flora & fauna and taught us so much! We hope to return during a different season to compare the beauty!
This experience didn’t justify the expense. Take the train and bus by yourself and find a trail map online. The guide awkwardly responded to questions and seemed like he didn’t enjoy teaching or talking to people.
It was amazing. It was absolutely beautiful. The national Park was great. Our guide was wonderful. Very informative. Would recommend it a lot of walking up and down hills. The snow was starting to melt so lots of parts were iced over but managed just fine.
A fantastic tour of a beautiful national park! My guide was on time at the Aleksis Kivi monument to pick me up. From there we went by train and then by bus to the national park. Purely theoretically, you can do all this much cheaper on your own, but my guide knew the most beautiful spots in the park, which is why it was a good idea to explore the park with a guide. We were super lucky with the weather. Spring is coming this week, the ice is slowly melting and the weather was just perfect!!! A very nice trip.
What a wonderful day, the weather was just perfect for a hike in January, many thanks to the Norse gods of weather , Freyr and Thor!. I also need to thank Mikhael, he is just the right person to share this experience with. Mikhael is passionate about what he does, he is amiable, informative about the environment's, geology, plants and animals. He communicates in a relaxed manner, no lectures here so it adds to the experience. I recommend him highly, and hope one day our paths cross again. Many thanks Mikhael 👍
The guide was very friendly and aware of the capabilities of participants and paced the hike accordingly. It was a very enjoyable day and hike.
This hike involved bus rides to the national park an hour from Helsinki, and the time was well spent visiting with our guide. The hike was a bit strenuous and involved walking over granite rocks, walking through the restful forest and finally down (fortunately for me) about 300 stairs to our last stop at a 7 meter lake that flows into the Baltic Sea. We were fortunate to see a whooper swan, the national bird of Finland. The hike was worth experiencing, and our guide was knowledgeable about both the flora and fauna of the park, and gave us other interesting information such as the vast number of lakes in the park, and in Finland, thanks to glacier activity during the ice age, only 10,000 or so years ago. He also told us about the bird population in the park and those flying over us on their way to warmer climes. A word of caution, restroom facilities are about halfway through the hike.
If you want a hike experience in woodlands and a national park not too far from Helsinki then this is a good way to start
