• Gecertificeerde handleidingen Onze gidsen hebben een certificaat van AIMG (Association of Icelandic Mountain Guides). • Kleine groepen De groepsgrootte voor onze reizen is nooit groter dan 8 personen. • 4x4-station We zullen je helemaal naar de gletsjer rijden. Dat betekent meer tijd die we kunnen uitgeven aan ijs. • Avond vertrek (juni - augustus) Als u wilt voorkomen dat de drukte zich bij ons aansluit voor onze avondtour en geniet van de volledige stilte.

U wilt verder de gletsjer in wandelen dan de meeste andere tours doen. U hoopt in de buurt te komen van de ijsval van Falljökull, de uitlaatgletsjer van Vatnajökull (de grootste gletsjer van Europa). U wilt een adembenemend uitzicht op de kloven. Dit is een rondleiding voor jou dan! We zullen je helemaal naar de gletsjer rijden, je leren hoe je stijgijzers moet opzetten en hoe je een ijsbijl moet gebruiken en dan zullen we je door het labyrint van gletsjerspleten, moulins en waterstromen van de gletsjer begeleiden. We gaan ons niet haasten naar de ijsval, dus je zult de tijd hebben om te wennen aan het lopen op stijgijzers. We zullen onderweg veel stops doen om alles uit te leggen over hoe gletsjers worden gevormd, over hun geschiedenis en ook een beetje over het gebied van Skaftafell en Örævi. Natuurlijk zal de gids je helpen met het nemen van veel foto's van dit avontuur.

This tour is a MUST! Our guides Camille and Vincenzo were incredible. They were very informative and accommodating to our pace. The views were so amazing and each of the guides took us to their own special view points which felt very personal and unique! The hike up was a bit strenuous at times but if you’re a seasoned hiker or active it wont break you. I would bring gloves with grips, a beanie or ear cover, and shoes with ankle support. They provide a harness, crampons, an ice pick, and a helmet. If you want to see the glaciers up close and personal you definitely need to book this tour, it won’t do it justice from the ground!
Amazing experience for our family of three. We got way up on the glacier, unbelievable views. We were in great hands with our guide Anya, who showed us the technical ropes, made sure everything was safe, while still keeping it fun. Would highly recommend to families looking to get up close with Iceland's glaciers and experience some epic adventure travel.
Unique experience with Vincenzo who brought our family on a 3.5hrs hike across the glacier: he adapted the pace and path throughout to match our interests and skills, and overall made this a truly special experience. Looking at other large size groups, we were really happy to have selected Melrakki Adventures which limits their group size to a max of 8 people and bring us much closer to the glacier then other companies (more time spent hiking on the ice!). Strongly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed this activity. Wonderful way to get onto the glacier and explore all it has to offer. Reasonably challenging. Not an activity for those with mobility issues. Our guide was Hugo was fabulous. Highly recommend this.
We had the opportunity to make the visit alone with Kalia guide which allowed us to go further and see incredible landscapes. The guide was super friendly and very well explainable the geology of the glacier. And we had a bonus in that the guide put us to play at the snow throw. We adore
Worth every penny! The guides were so knowledgeable and attentive. Felt like we had new friends by the end of the trip. A lot of thought is put into these trips and the team did everything they could to ensure we had the best experience. Communication was fantastic too. The tour took about 5hours or more, we walked around 5k to the ABC caves. It was magical. Would 100% recommend and go back!
Hands down one of the highlights of our trip! We did the 5-hour glacier hike with Jose and loved every minute. He made sure we were well taken care of the whole way. Driving right up to the glacier (instead of hiking the long approach) was such a bonus. The blue crevices and views from the top were breathtaking. Can’t recommend it enough!
