Verwissel de drukke straten van Taipei voor de schilderachtige bezienswaardigheden van Yehliu Geopark en Yangmingshan National Park tijdens een privédagtocht. Onderweg naar Yangmingshan National Park, heb je misschien de kans om Formosan makaken te zien. De hoogte is ongeveer 700 tot 1.000 meter, dus het zal iets koeler zijn dan de stad. De belangrijkste attracties zijn Qingtiangang Grassland en Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area.
Qingtiangang ligt boven op het Yangmingshan National Park en is een uitgestrekt, vlak grasland met een spectaculair panoramisch uitzicht. Met een hoogte van ongeveer 800 meter is de temperatuur iets koeler dan de stad, waardoor het een ideale plek is voor een ontspannen wandeling of een picknick. Tijdens de Japanse bezetting werd dit gebied ingericht als ranch voor grazend vee. Vandaag de dag kunt u hier nog steeds wildwaterbuffels en andere wilde dieren spotten. Vanwege de grote hoogte is het gebied vaak gehuld in wolken en mist, waardoor een unieke en etherische schoonheid ontstaat.
Gelegen op de noordwestelijke hoek van de berg Qixing op een hoogte van ongeveer 805 meter, Xiaoyoukeng is een post-vulkanische geologische park waar u actieve vulkanische verschijnselen uit de eerste hand kunt zien. Naarmate je dichterbij komt, zie je stoomopeningen en ruik je de duidelijke geur van zwavel van de vulkanische activiteit. Dit gebied dient meer als uitkijkplatform, dus je hoeft niet ver te lopen om te genieten van het indrukwekkende landschap.
Yehliu Geopark is een van de belangrijkste bestemmingen van Noord-Taiwan, de thuisbasis van een verzameling unieke geologische formaties uitgehouwen door de wind en de zee. Hoewel het park het meest bekend is om de iconische Koninginnekop, kun je ook andere opmerkelijke formaties ontdekken, zoals Zeekaarsen, Feeënschoen, Ginger Rocks en Prinsessenkop. Omdat het park een open en onbeschut gebied is met weinig tot geen beschutting, is het belangrijk om voorbereid te zijn op het weer. In de winter kan de sterke noordoostmoesson behoorlijk koud en fris aanvoelen. Tijdens de zomer is de zon erg intens, dus het is sterk aanbevolen om beschermende kleding tegen de zon te dragen of een paraplu mee te nemen en gehydrateerd te blijven.

The tour was full of beautiful sights. We were excited for the trip, but our tour guide Jennifer, made the experience better than we could have ever expected. She is Passionate about the history and knowledgeable about all the surroundings. Very comfortable car, punctual, and fantastic English speaking. My fiancée has a gluten allergy and she was so helpful translating with locals so she could eat. Thank you for the wonderful experience Jennifer!
We had a great day out of the city with Cody, the weather was perfect to see the park and Neolithic carvings. He got to know us quickly and what we wanted to do. We had lots of questions and he was able to answer them all. He had good knowledge of where we visited. 👍 He was a very safe driver; we drove back in a thunderstorm, no worries though. The pace was perfect.
Even though the weather was not good, we still managed to see most of the sights and had a wonderful time! Ben, our guide, was warm and friendly and accommodating. He also helped us take many lovely family photos. Highly recommend this tour for a break from the usual city sights in Taipei!

I'd highly recommend this tour for those who want to experience some of the interesting geological features and natural beauty of the Greater Taipei area. Hicks was an excellent guide and knew all the best spots. A very enjoyable short tour.

The tour was very flexible, and we were picked up from our hotel by Henry who was friendly and informative. Plenty of time was given at each location to enjoy the view and take photos. we were able to collect many stamps from the visitor center and had a delicious fresh fish meal. Paul was a wonderful guide who was flexible and easy to work with. The rains brought thick fog to Yangmingshan National Park that we needed to have a plan B. Paul brought us to Jinshan instead which is the first settlement of the Hokkien migrants from Mainland China. It was a good alternative . Yehliu Geopark did not disappoint despite the continued drizzle.

If not for the weather, this would have been a great trip. We could not see anything in Yangmingshan National Park because of the fog but I was already warned by our superb tour guide Paul Yang. Paul had a plan B though and he brought us to Jinshan instead to experience authentic authentic Taiwanese lifestyle. This is the first settlement by their ancestors who travelled from the Hokkien province of mainland China thereby having almost - 400 years of history . Yehliu Geopark did not disappoint.

Vincent is a wonderful tour guide and anyone would be lucky to have his services. Highly recommended, its a private tour with him walking alongside and supporting and sharing/teaching about the area sites. Its not too overwhelming and you still get privacy with ur family but also a fun uncle/friend to banter and chat with. He really matches your energy and I would use his services again back in Taiwan :)
