De Bulguksa-tempel werd in 1995 vermeld als het eerste UNESCO-werelderfgoed in Korea. Tijdens de Shilla-dynastie, bijna 1500 jaar geleden, was het boeddhisme de nationale religie en werd de Bulguksa-tempel gebouwd om het "boeddhistische land" te maken met de beste bouwtechnieken.
Seokguram is een kunstmatige stenen grot gebouwd met een nauwgezet ontwerp om de Boeddha in de 8e eeuw te dienen, die in 1995 werd aangewezen als UNESCO-werelderfgoed. In de grot is de prachtige hoofdboeddha vastgelegd die de essentie van de Silla-boeddhistische kunst laat zien.
Daereungwon, een oud grafpark met 23 grote en kleine graven bij elkaar. Onder hen is Cheonmachong het meest representatief, het enige graf in Daeneungwon dat is onthuld. Er werd aangenomen dat het eind 5e tot begin 6e eeuw werd gebouwd, en gouden kronen, hoeden, riemen en verguld bronzen schoenen werden opgegraven terwijl ze werden gedragen.
De Woljeong-brug is oorspronkelijk een houten brug gemaakt in de Silla-dynastie. Alle restauraties werden in april 2018 voltooid door een 10-jarig onderzoek, getuigenis en restauratie uit te voeren van wat verloren en verdwenen was tijdens de Joseon-dynastie. Dankzij de prachtige reproductie werd het nu een populaire film- en dramalocatie.
Hwangridan-gil is de jongste weg in Gyeongju. Het verwijst naar de gebieden van Hwangnam-dong. Een paar jaar geleden begonnen jonge mensen zich te verzamelen en in elk steegje werden cafés met een goede sfeer, souvenirwinkels en unieke restaurants gebouwd.
Cheomseongdae, het oudste observatorium in Azië. Er wordt aangenomen dat het in de 7e eeuw is gebouwd, een van de herkenningspunten die Gyeongju symboliseren. Er kan worden geraden dat Cheomseongdae werd gebruikt om de beweging van de lucht te berekenen, de landbouwperiode te bepalen en het goede en slechte geluk van het land te voorspellen.
Gyochon Village is de plaats waar Gyeongju's rijkste man woont, die zijn fortuin twaalf generaties lang heeft behouden en zich negen generaties lang aan zijn studie heeft gewijd om een nationale minister te produceren. Er zijn veel unieke ervaringen, zoals aardewerkervaring, ervaring met het maken van rijstwafels, traditionele theeceremonie-ervaring, hanbok-ervaring, traditionele sauservaring, rituele ervaring en gewatteerde ervaring, enz.
Gyeongju National Museum is een van de belangrijkste musea in Korea, gelegen in Gyeongju, de oude hoofdstad van het Silla Koninkrijk. Het museum toont een opmerkelijke collectie artefacten uit de Silla-dynastie, waaronder koninklijke kronen, gouden sieraden, boeddhistische sculpturen, stenen pagodes en alledaagse voorwerpen van meer dan duizend jaar geleden. Een van de hoogtepunten is de Silla Gold Crowns Gallery, waar bezoekers het voortreffelijke vakmanschap en de elegantie van oude Koreaanse royalty's kunnen zien. Buiten beschikt het museum ook over een prachtige stenen openluchttuin met grote stenen relikwieën zoals pagodes en Boeddhabeelden, zodat bezoekers in een rustige omgeving van de geschiedenis kunnen genieten.

I have taken several private tours over the years, and this is hands down the best one so far. Peter was very knowledgeable about the area and his English is really good. My mom has 3 ruptured discs in her back and uses a walker to help take the pressure off her spine. He adjusted our tour based on her limitations and she had a fantastic time. I also have a severe food allergy and he made sure we want to lunch at a restaurant which had things I could eat while catering to Mom’s love of traditional food. We had booked tours to two different with him and I am so happy we did. If you are going to book a tour this is the one to take. I would absolutely book a tour with him again.
