De heuvel Ouen-Toro stijgt tegenover dit rotsachtige punt. Een weg loopt over de lengte van het stadspark en leidt naar de 128 meter hoge top met uitzicht op de lagune. Het is bedekt met twee uitstekende kanonnen, geïnstalleerd door het Australische leger in 1940. Van daaruit kunt u genieten van een ongeëvenaard uitzicht op Noumea en de omliggende regio. Terugkomend biedt de weg rond de heuvel vaak veel zeer interessante uitzichten over de verschillende kanten van de stad. In het zuiden ziet u net onder u de hotels Méridien en Château Royal, begrensd door het strand van Château Royal, evenals het strand van Anse Vata en, verder in de verte, de eilanden, Île aux Canards en Îlot Maître. In westelijke richting strekken de twee baaien, Baie des Citrons en Baie de l'Orphelinat zich uit. In het noorden zijn de woonwijken te zien, zoals Val Plaisance, Motor Pool, Receiving en N’Géa. Ten slotte liggen in het oosten de baai van Sainte-Marie en de kleine eilandjes. In de verte zien we de bergen van Mont-Dore en de heuvels van het Grote Zuiden van Nieuw-Caledonië, de Grand Sud.
Tussen twee grote rotsen, de Rocher César richting de Pointe Magnin en de beroemde Rocher à la voile, aan de zijde van de Lemon Bay, is Anse Vata een van de belangrijkste toeristische plekken in Nouméa. Aan de oostkant loopt een voetpad langs het lange strand, de Roger-Laroque-promenade, met veel hotels, restaurants, bars, winkels en nachtclubs.
Baie des Citrons ligt op minder dan 10 minuten van het stadscentrum en is tegenwoordig de meest verbonden plek aan zee in de Caledonische "hoofdstad". Winkels, bars, restaurants en nachtclubs volgen elkaar langs de promenade, tot grote vreugde van toeristen en Nouméans ...
Vroeger huisde verschillende industriële activiteiten, waaronder het smelten van nikkel in Chaleix-werkplaatsen, de baai "Orphelinat" is nu vooral een zeer mooie woonwijk met South Port Marina. De waterkant is onlangs omgebouwd tot een voetgangers- en fietspad omzoomd met palmbomen voor atleten en gezinnen om de baaien te bezichtigen. Een andere herinnering aan de Tweede Wereldoorlog is een anker dat toebehoorde aan het Amerikaanse leger dat in deze periode in het land was geïnstalleerd. Het bevindt zich nu in het midden van de belangrijkste rotonde in de buurt, aan de voorkant van de baai, en nam de naam aan van "kruispunt van zeeanker".
De Place des Cocotiers (Coconut Tree Square) is sinds het einde van de 19e eeuw het hart van de stad Nouméa. Over een oppervlakte van bijna 4 hectare (en 400 meter lang van oost naar west), is de uitgestrekte promenade met een lichte helling het hele jaar door een plek voor vergaderingen, rust en festiviteiten.

Quite simple ...we must have booked a tour that no one would want to recommend. It was totally boring, our driver just raved on and the places we went to were unwelcoming. A few of us had to use a toilet.... OMG nothing but filth on the walls and floor, for an Island that has so many tourists how can the locals expect paying tourists to have to use these facilities. Nothing good to say about Port Villa, was over charged for a few items and the lady asked for more money. While being driven around it was most disturbing seeing rubbish piled up in the streets. With so many visiting tourists this was not what we expected. Perhaps Carnival cruise line should investigate the tours they offer. Totally dissatisfied and will not return.

Sorry to say of all the tours we have taken, this was the worst. The guide was not agreeable to putting the 6 of us in one van, although easily doable. Then she spoke almost no English, said very little in general on the entire tour, and provided no value than a drive around the island, which we could have done much easier and cheaper by. ourselves.

Unfortunate timing which can't blame on the tour company as Monday, April 6 was a holiday in Noumea, New Caledonia so much of the city was closed. However, our guide Florence was not well suited to answer questions or understand our questions as her English was extremely poor thereby we didn't learn much about the city and its history.

We just finished our tour of noumea with michael. Michael made us feel comfortable and showed us a few hidden spots, very informational . Can say that it was an amazing tour and a lot of fun!
This tour was very informative and enjoyable! Antoine was the tour guide and I thought he did a fantastic job at explaining relevant NC history and culture. The sites were interesting and the bakery visit made it a fab activity! Would’ve loved the option to tour other parts of the island with this company.
