Guatapé & koffieboerderij, allemaal op één dag

We bezoeken een koffieplantage in Guatapé, waar we van lokale boeren alles leren over het koffieproces, van het zaaien van het zaadje tot het drinken van een kopje koffie, daar kun je de koffie verzamelen en een tijdje koffieboer zijn. Omdat we in Guatapé zijn, moeten we naar de rots We gaan verder naar het rotsblok, maken ons klaar om meer dan 708 treden te beklimmen om de top te bereiken, die het landschap van Oost-Antioquia siert en genieten van een adembenemend 360 graden uitzicht vanaf de dam en de omliggende gebieden om onvergetelijke foto's te maken. Daarna gaan we naar de stad, waar we genieten van de lunch voordat we een wandeling maken langs de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van een stad vol kleur, vriendelijke mensen en hoeken met fascinerende verhalen die we met u gaan delen, hoe de traditie van "zócalos" (huis gevels geschilderd) begonnen en waarom is belangrijk voor de bewoners; als je een chocoladeliefhebber bent, wacht er een winkel op je, ook heb je tijd om handwerk te kopen bij de plaatselijke winkels.

We zullen een markt bezoeken om te genieten van een heerlijke fruitproeverij, daarna gaan we naar de koffieboerderij waar je van de boeren alles leert over de koffie, van het zaaien van het zaad tot het drinken van een kopje, daar maak je deel uit van de hele proces, plukken, ontpoppen, wassen, drogen en aarden, een tijdje koffieboer zijn voordat je geniet van de smaak van ons land.
Hier kunnen de toeristen de top van de rots bereiken na meer dan 700 treden te hebben beklommen om te genieten van een onvergetelijk uitzicht op de dam.
Ook bekend als de stad "Zócalos", waar u de Colombiaanse gastronomie tijdens de lunch zult proberen, dan wandelt u door de stad met uw gids en kent u de geschiedenis van de cultuur van Guatapé.

Loved our tour of El Peñol, the Rivera coffee farm, and the town of Guatapé. Our guide, Henry, was very knowledgeable and chatty and customized the tour for us since we couldn't climb the rock due to an injury. The coffee farm felt like a private your in a family's house which was lovely. We were able to buy coffee bags as souvenirs starting at 12,000 COP for the small ones (bring cash). The town of Guatapé is adorable and super colourful and was lovely to walk around. Well worth the detour!

Yuly was excellent, we had the trip to ourselves (wife and I). Pick up was prompt on time and we had a lot of fun & educational conversations during the tour of guatape, rock and coffee farm. If you have the chance to take this tour with Yuly, do it! This was one of the best experiences of my trip and easily one of the most memorable days I had in Colombia. The tour was a very small group-just 3 of us-which made the whole experience feel incredibly personal. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated how welcoming she was. During the drive, she shared the history of Colombia, Guatapé, and the surrounding area, but it never felt like a lecture. It felt like a conversation with a new friend on a road trip! Climbing the rock is definitely a workout, but the views are absolutely worth it. Getting to Guatapé early was another highlight because we were able to enjoy the colorful streets before the crowds arrived. Yuly’s passion for the town, its history, and its people made every stop so much more meaningful. She also gave us fantastic lunch recommendations and introduced us to local fruits that I probably never would have tried on my own. The coffee farm was the perfect way to end the day. It was a small family-run farm, and you could immediately tell how much Yuly cares about the family and the work they do. Laura welcomed us so warmly, and we had so much fun learning about the coffee-making process while getting hands-on throughout the experience. It was educational, authentic, and full of laughter. While it is a long day, every minute is worth it. If you’re looking for an authentic experience that goes beyond sightseeing, I can’t recommend this tour- and especially with Yuly- highly enough!

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Colombia and an experience I would recommend without hesitation. As a solo traveler, I appreciated how comfortable and accommodating he was throughout the entire day. The combination of Guatapé and the coffee farm was fantastic. The coffee experience was memorable because it was completely hands-on. This was one of our favorite days in Colombia thanks to our guide Henry! He was prompt, attentive, and we had a blast sharing stories during the car ride.
