Welkom op Cyprus! Wij zijn Ascot Travel & Tours, een familiebedrijf opgericht in 1990. Ontdek de geschiedenis en cultuur van het eiland tijdens onze Grand Tour van Nicosia & Larnaca, een mix van traditie, erfgoed en modern leven. Onze eerste stop is Lefkara Village, beroemd om zijn kant en zilverwerk. Bezoek het traditionele huis van Lefkaritika Lace om meer te leren over dit unieke ambacht en zie prachtige handgemaakte stukken. In Nicosia, de verdeelde hoofdstad van Cyprus, passeren we de Venetiaanse Muren, de Famagustapoort en het Aartsbisschoppelijk Paleis voordat we Ledra Street bereiken voor vrije tijd. Verken lokale cafés, winkels of bezoek het Leventis Museum en de Shacolastoren voor een panoramisch uitzicht — en steek desgewenst het door Turkije bezette gebied binnen via de VN-bufferzone. Onze laatste stop is Larnaca, waar u de Sint-Lazaruskerk kunt bezoeken, door de oude binnenstad kunt wandelen en kunt genieten van de Finikoudes-promenade met zijn palmbomen, cafés en uitzicht op zee.

In het dorp Lefkara bezoeken we het traditionele huis van Lefkaritika, kant en zilverwerk. Hier leer je over de geschiedenis en evolutie van het bekendste Cypriotische borduurwerk en zie je enkele buitengewone kunstwerken.
Na een korte wandeling naar Ledra Street heb je wat vrije tijd met opties om het Leventis Stedelijk Museum te bezoeken, waar je voorwerpen uit de geschiedenis van de stad en het eiland kunt zien, de Shacolas-toren met 360 graden uitzicht over de stad en de bezette kant, zoals evenals de vele winkels en lokale cafés. Als u wilt, kunt u ook het door Turkije bezette gebied van Cyprus bezoeken, gescheiden door de VN-bufferzone.
In Larnaca heb je vrije tijd om de volgende bezienswaardigheden te bezoeken: de prachtige Agios Lazaros-kerk en het graf – de kerk heeft enkele van de mooiste voorbeelden van Byzantijnse architectuur; De oude stad met zijn traditionele kraampjes en winkels; de beroemde met palmbomen omzoomde Finikoudes-promenade, waar u, als u dat wenst, ook kunt zwemmen en cafés en restaurants kunt bezoeken.

On this tour, our tour guide Chris served as both driver and storyteller. During the pleasant and safe drive to Nicosia, we listened to music and interesting facts about the island of Cyprus. Once there, we were treated to a short city tour with the option to cross the border into the Turkish zone at our own risk. Chris explained everything wonderfully and was always helpful. After plenty of free time in Cyprus’s capital, where we could also visit various museums, we continued on to Larnaca and its highlights. There, too, there was plenty of time for exploring on our own. On the drive back, we admired other sights, such as the large salt lake with its flamingos. Chris drove everyone back right to the hotel’s front door. A wonderful day!

Nice trip to 3 cities but didn't answer the question for sightseeing tips in the turkish capital
I would fully recommend this trip. Lefkara is such a beautiful village and I also very much enjoyed visiting the north side of Nicosia, due to the vibrancy and interesting architecture. The guide, Chris, was excellent, providing lots of information on the local culture and history.
friendly and professional guides/driver who explain history and local culture well. Comfortable transport: pickup from hotels in Limassol are both appreciated.timely hotel pick up and return I enjoyed seeing both Nicosia (historic old town) and Larnaca highlights in one day
Good value for money. Picked up from hotel which is a bonus. Our driver Chris was very informative about the areas we were visiting and Cyprus history in general. It’s quite a long day of travelling sat on a small bus which isn’t particularly comfortable though. Would recommend going over the border to the Turkish side as it added to the experience for us as there wasn’t really a lot to see in Nicosia. Larnaca is a bit more picturesque and we enjoyed some nice food and a look around the church of Lazarus.
Guide (Chris) provided interesting and useful information related to Cyprus history and/or local things to do/visit, in an understandable manner, funny at times. Nice music during riding.

The guide was great, native and knowledgeable. It is good if you don’t want to plan to go to Nicossia or Larnaca by yourself
Enjoyable informative tour , Chris our driver and guide was brilliant . Maybe need a little more time at the two main destinations for free time . But would certainly recommend the tour if you only in Cyprus for a short period of time .
