Ga met ons mee op een korte tour in een kleine groep naar de beroemde Goðafoss-waterval, een van de populairste toeristische bestemmingen in Noord-IJsland. Op de terugweg naar Akureyri rijden we langs de kust van Eyjafjordur, een van de langste fjorden in IJsland, waar u over de fjord naar Akureyri kunt kijken en een geweldige foto kunt maken. Geniet van een korte introductie tot de stad Akureyri, rijd door de oude stad en bezoek de parel van Akureyri, de Botanische Tuinen.

De Goðafoss-waterval is een van de mooiste watervallen van IJsland. Bijgenaamd de Waterval van de Goden vanwege zijn geschiedenis. In het jaar 1000 maakte Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði het christendom tot de officiële religie van IJsland en ging verder met het gooien van zijn godenbeelden in de waterval. Het water valt van een hoogte van 12 meter over een breedte van 30 meter.

Informatie over ophalen Als u met een cruiseschip in Akureyri aankomt, zorg er dan voor dat u de naam van uw schip aan ons heeft doorgegeven, aangezien er meerdere havens in Akureyri zijn. Tangabryggja Port : Net buiten het cruiseschip gebied ziet u verschillende kleine houten huizen. Star Travel bevindt zich op huisnummer 3, en we ontmoeten je daar. Oddeyrarbryggja Port : Direct buiten het schip vindt u een Icewear winkel. Ernaast is het aangewezen agent gebied waar alle touragenten wachten op hun klanten. We zullen er zijn met een Star Travel teken. Zoek een van onze collega's in een felgeel jasje. Als u in Akureyri verblijft, zorg er dan voor dat u de juiste accommodatie hebt geselecteerd voor ophalen. Zorg er ten slotte voor dat het telefoonnummer dat u hebt opgegeven bereikbaar is voor het geval we contact met u moeten opnemen met updates of wijzigingen.

The tour is great. The waterfall and the gardens are beautiful. I would recommend the tour if there was another operator. Our problem was the tour operator. They left us stranded at the gardens and did not answer their phone. Viatour was very helpful and processed a refund and gave us information about returning to our ship.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced, but we would like to clarify that our tours operate on a set schedule to ensure all guests can enjoy their time and return safely and punctually. Unfortunately, when guests are not back at the designated meeting point on time, the tour must continue as scheduled. Our team did attempt to reach out, but as we must also respect the schedules of other guests, we could not delay the entire group.
Bathroom lines at the falls are really long, and you must pay. By the time we went to the falls and walked up to the bathrooms there wasn’t enough time to wait in line, so I couldn’t go. Suggest adding about 15 minutes to the time.

Wonderful tour. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable. The meeting place was easy to find and the tour was the perfect amount of time. The waterfall was amazing and the botanical gardens were beautiful. We were fortunate to have spectacular weather which definitely made a difference for this particular tour.

Listen carefully to pick up instructions. Driver lost people twice! First time, van moved 1/4 mile away and driver left, making it difficult to find correct pickup spot. Second stop, driver locked vehicle and went to chit-chat with other drivers, leaving passengers waiting in the cold. The falls were amazing. The botanical garden was a free city park.

Great tour! The local guide, was the best told lots of interesting information not only about the falls and gardens but also Iceland/ Akureyri . The coffee shop in the garden was very pleasant.

This was a great little excursion. Our guide was funny, flexible, and very informative. The falls were worth seeing. After the tour our guide gave us the option to walk through town back to the ship, and we happily did!
