Lot of historical facts . Our guide had a strong yorkshire accent, and our Americans on the tour struggled to understand, but I translated for them. !! I really enjoyed it.

Firstly board states free walking tour. Then he asks for contributions . Made sure he took us past a cash machine. He even made 2 girls go into a pub to get cash! If it free don’t ask and force people or guilt them into paying. Then tell other people how much money a girl had in her purse! History was not chronological, which as a history tour it should be. It confused a lot of people. A lovely person but slightly unethical regarding forcing people to pay and needs to have a clear route that is chronological.

We had really nice time in this tour. Dave is very friendly and knows the city and its history so well! He was able to cater to the different interests of the people in the group. I really enjoyed it and would book with him again next time.

The tour started at the Guy Fawks pub The Guide was a total waste of time. His history knowledge seemed limited All he talked about was York minster but not much about the Shambles and York it self. Almost seemed not really interested in being there. To busy slating other guides.would not recommend.

I left feeling like I had experienced the real York, and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

The guide Dave, is second to none. We’ve done numerous walking tours and this was one of the best. Dave’s knowledge was outstanding, he tailored the tour to the group. We saw parts of York that we wouldn’t have done without Dave as our guide.

What an amazing tour! Educational and funny! Extremely informative but always accessible. Me and my family enjoyed every second of it. We had the full tour and it covered so much. We got the history and how it has shaped modern York. The Host Dave was exceptional with his knowledge and passion. A must do if visiting York.
