Het Cristo Rei-uitkijkpunt, gelegen in Ponta do Garajau, biedt een uniek perspectief over dit natuurreservaat. Het dankt zijn naam aan het majestueuze standbeeld dat in 1927 op deze plek werd gebouwd. Het Cristo Rei-uitkijkpunt dankt zijn naam aan het standbeeld van het Heilig Hart van Jezus dat op deze plek werd gebouwd. Het is een imposant beeldhouwwerk van Jezus Christus, met open armen, met uitzicht op de oceaan.
De grote vallei die aan de ene kant dienst doet als natuurlijk amfitheater voor Funchal en aan de andere kant de kalme zee die de zuidkust van Madeira baadt: dit is wat je kunt zien vanaf het uitkijkpunt Pico dos Barcelos. Dit observatorium bevindt zich op een hoogte van 355 meter en is ideaal gepositioneerd voor bezoekers om te genieten van een vredig uitzicht op het stedelijke landschap van Funchal, met name de baai.
Op een hoogte van 1095 meter biedt het uitkijkpunt Eira do Serrado een vrij uitzicht op de parochie van Curral das Freiras, omgeven door de grandeur van de karakteristieke groene bergen van Madeira.
Het uitzichtpunt Cabo Girão, met zijn beroemde glazen platform - skywalk genoemd - is momenteel een van de meest bezochte toeristische attracties van de archipel.580 meter hoog is Cabo Girão het hoogste voorgebergte van Europa. Entree 3 euro.

If you're considering a private tour in Madeira, I highly recommend Diogo! We spent two full days with him exploring both the west and east sides of the island, and after such a fantastic experience, we also booked him for our airport transfer at the end of our stay. Our driver/guide Ricardo took us around Funchal and showed us everything he recommended and also what we wanted to see: Botanical gardens, fishing village Camara de Lobos, sea cliff Cabo Girao, drove to Monte village where we took a thrilling toboggan ride ( local most popular tourist attraction), visiting the statue of Christ overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Ricardo made the day so much fun knowing all the ins and outs. We want to return and explore more.
